There's a link to the regs if anyone is still looking.
There's no restriction that micro growers have to sell to LP's, both LP's & micros are covered by the same restrictions for selling. Which ultimately the distribution is determined by how the province sets it up.
I seriously doubt LP's will take over. The key in the new market is genetics & underground growers/the community have the advantage there. Since all it takes to make plants/seeds legal is a declaration in the application, whoever has the fire now holds the power. Does anyone think LP's have better genetics then the community? That's laughable.
I'm sure LP's will try to poach as much as they can by enticing growers to join them or co-brand with them (like zenabis, they've had a site recruiting micro's for months now). Partnering up with established seed companies like Greenhouse will probably be another strategy. I assume most micro's realise that building a brand is a lot more profitable the selling at the get go. That's if they're interested in selling at all, I expect most would rather keep growing. Regardless I expect the market will be flooded with competition in a year or two and that'll sort out the survivors.
