Switching to LED from HPS

Every day on rui we have another new user thinking they are a scientist doing groundbreaking work.... what they should really do is read up. We've all heard anything you could possibly say to us, and I'm going to get your "data points" are worthless.

Any light can grow a plant. Really. At this point it's about how well each light does in relation to other lights given initial cost, to final yield. Also known as, "what's it going to cost to grow a lb" with hps it's about 250-300 including electric. Still under the base cost of most dare I say ALL prebuilt LED fixtures that are able to yield a lb, by half.

OK. Your right. PSYCH!

Who said I am a noob at growing? That was a good one. Made me laugh so hard I snorted. I think I meet your high standard of 10 grows. LMAO, 10 Grows? And that makes you qualified to give me advise and to say I am wrong. lololol. 25 + years there buddy!
Your plants and burple lights look like a choice a first time grower, or a total dumbass would have. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Bro, every single noobie ever says exactly what your saying. I'm not trying to be rude, but please let me know what you think your first or second grow have to show anyone. If you really want to get some data it will take around 10 grows, using several differant kinds of lights, and that already been done by a lot of us. I think I've finished somewhere around 80 cycles... lots of people here have done way more than that. Guess what? The data is in. We all know what LEDs are trash, what ones work alright.

With people who have experiance and know how to use proper grow equipment hps is by far CHEAPER to get a grow going, and get a better yield and quality. There's plenty of people doing really well with the Samsung LEDs, but they dont seem to be there just yet, and by that I mostly mean the prebuilt fixture market needs expanding and to come down in price a little before it's a real contender for the HPS crown.

Show the data. Using scientific instruments please and I will do the same. Doesn't have to be your research. Just show me definitive data where I can verify the facts along with your references. I will do the same if your game? This is why I came to this forum, for discussion and information. So lets begin, or will you will just curse at me more.

you just proved my point with your ad hominem attacks. Attack the person and their education instead of defending the subject. Those always come out when they cant prove what they are saying. That is the true sign of a shit talker. Tell me more how dumb and noobish I am. So helpful.

Well you showed up to a baseball game wearing football pads then said "prove I'm wrong."
If you catch my drift.

Here's the thing dinotech, do you honestly expect me to do this 5, 10 times a day every day? Because that's how often another new member joins sounding exactly like you. The data is in. I've used led. Most people here have used led. We all know what it is and what it does. Your not breaking new ground here.

You sound like a nice lady aside from this post. I bet you have a bunch of cats and just cracked open a nice bottle of Pinot noir.

@DinoTech why didn't you read up first and get a qb? I run a blurple with qb but only because I bought it 4 years ago...
Well at some point it becomes preference. Mostly because I liked that one so much I didn't feel the need to search for another light right now. I just added a second one. Maybe next year when my budget gets replenished I will look into getting a different one. I don't by any means think I have an flagship light. It just works great for affordable up front cost. I would love to buy different lights but I don't like to waste things either. I will use these for a bit then get something different.

I mostly am just saying the filament lights are outdated and becoming more and more regulated to manufacture. LED's are going to become standard soon and there is a reason for that. Standard household filament lights are already illegal to manufacture unless they are under 40 Watts or specialized bulbs like HID. There is a reason huge cities like Kansas City has switched every street light to LED. Just saying.

LED 4 The WIN!

8 cats an a all men are pigs t-shirt, with a x-man body pillow. 2 years at community college.
LMAO well instead of 8 cats its more like 8 computers. Instead of 2 years community college, I have a bachelors in electronic engineering and a masters in computer science. I own my own IT company and work from home on these badass babies and video game all day long in 4k when I dont want to work.

I am not a woman, just educated.

And out those huge picture windows is the bay so even my view is the shit. Where do you work? At least I am making money sitting here typing on this forum all day playing video games, once in a while I have to take a call for big picture stuff. Mic Drop..office.jpg

The Key words in your post are (may, warning, possibly and cautioned) If they really knew they would do something definitive I think. I would have to review the study to make my own opinion about it. Interesting to look into.

I know the mechanical and chemical process of making LED's. It doesn't seem right to me but I definitely want to do some research into that. Thanx man.
