I'm tempted to post a picture of our carport setup.

It looks pretty similar, if you substitute a jug of Neptunes harvest fertilizer for the Alaska Fish fertilizer and a couple of Twisted Tea and PBR empties for the Bud can.

Not that there's anything wrong with Alaska fish fertilizer or Bud, lol.

impo its all good,i have used both kinds the Alaska fish stinks more but 10 bucks a gal cheaper it kicks ass when growing in the ground lets c ya hill billy set up lol

This is my first time topping...quick question. Where is the line of diminishing returns? Should I stop at topping once? Or keep going until right before flower? Will they just keep getting wider with every top?

They seem to respond with explosive growth every time I do it to a plant. I just dont want to press my luck (to much...)

I wear an XL size glove and they are a bit tight. (I only say that because it wouldn't be a very impressive leaf if I had XS hands)

I think that it is all about personal preference from experience.
I personally stop pinching the last week of July and still end up with very long colas.
However us northerners flower a bit later then the southern states so I would stop pinching now if I lived more south.
they will get wider and Bush out more with more topping but it all depends on what you want to achieve.
I would rather have a lot of smaller buds then a few huge ones because of all the rain we get and I don't want to worry about mold.

Huge colas and lots of small buds! Molds always an issue. I’m thinking of getting a party tent 10x30 and putting the frame up, if weather looks bad end of season I can throw walls and a top over them (maybe remove the top in the mornings) . 170$ off amazon could mean hige savings from mold. I lost a couple units last year but still finished with almost 10 dried and cured. Down to my last half unit now and looking forward to my legal indoor harvest some time early to mid August.

My Length of Day is 13 hours 57 minutes {in NW Florida}. About half of my stuff is flowering already, with more triggering everyday.

From what I've read (no experience) pollen can travel...FAR. Like, further then you could ever accommodate for reasonably. What I've read/heard of people doing is moving the male as far away as possible, and waiting for the first sac to open. Then chopping the whole top and putting it in a jar. All the other sacs will open in the jar, allowing you to get all the pollen you need for the females. With limited risk of contaminating this years virgins.

Not sure if that helps with what you are trying to do (or if it would even work in theory. I've never tried) but that's something I read that other people supposedly do successfully to get the seeds they want without hurting harvest elsewhere.

The only other thing I could think of would be based on geography...if you live in an area where the wind mostly travels in one direction (because of mountains, ocean etc) then as far away as possible in the direction that will keep him down wind from this years girls.

Thank you. I've always just murdered the males too. Never even thought of breeding before but he's outdoor Rosetta Stone. I've got 4 clones of my 2 strongest gals. Rosetta and Gorilla glu. Feel like i have to breed him.
That's what I've been reading too. At least a mile away. If it's gotta be a mile then it's gonna be 10 lol. Wind is all but predictable in s.e. Ma.

That's for sure. Im on the South shore of MA so I feel ya there.

Maybe look into that jar trick more. If it's for breeding 2 specific strains that would probably be perfect. Good way to get the pollen without letting him go buck wild on on the ladies. Haha

Took your advice, put out 2x 5 week old Panama Powerhouse plants to the Stoned Pit. They were indoor plants, but bushed up like crazy. So I booted them and am starting another round of Getaway's skunks for the fall.

The Critical Autos stretched nicely,they have dense bud structure and need lots of air.
The San Pedro cactii behind them at the end are taking off too, lots of new growth.
The whole thing is filled to the gills. A couple red headed stepchild plants are semi scrogged for oil buds, some plants are just tower buds for Christmas gifts. And the LBSD plant is a nitrogen whore, can't believe the nutes it is sucking up.
I can see that I gotta scale up again and screw the vegetables, the cover tomato garden is killing me with success.

I think my cousin might take them. He's a couple towns away. Got some indoor going too. Don't wanna risk getting it on me and blowing up alot of work.

Hey,
You guys running Getaway, which one or two of these will keep me off the couch and smiling all day? No straight up R2 seeds right now, I'll get those in spring
I need practice for next year, promise I won't bake the seedlings at 99f for 2 days this time...:leaf:
I think figured out how I flipped the Goldmine early on the porch this year, too much indirect light, not direct sunshine. They were just more photo sensitive,
