Ah I see, should I remove all yellow leaves and see if any more turn?Depends on how far gone they are and what is causing it but most of the time they will not recover.

Oh well that wouldn't have been my answer but I'm just saying. As a hydro grower you go through much wider pH swings and abrupt nutrient changes so I'm pretty sure you experience differences. No one seems too definitive on what or how much to prune. If you have an early bright yellow leaf like this you caused a funny problem. I wouldn't expect it to get better. But since it is where the problem is, I can imagine a theory that if you keep it and if that leaf doesn't get worse, it would be informing you that you're doing something right now. Maybe it should take 3 weeks to fall off or die, or maybe if it falls off in 1 week then you are doing something wrong. Whatever it is, I expect this to be more prominent in hydro. Its a general growing question, anybody could answer it.
And the answer is yes get rid of all of the worst leaves they are not coming back and just blocking light from anything that is good. plus in the pics you look like you have alot of leaf so it isnt going to hurt anything.
they don’t need everything all the time, just regular access to everything
This was such a clear statement of plant needs...that I felt compelled to draw attention to it.
I'm essentially a lazy dude and I discovered this doing small plant sog E&F. I was new to hydro and phed res to 5.4 and allowed it to drift to 6.4 or so. This allowed me to extend res corrections to every other day...rather then daily.
Lo and behold...the plants grew perfectly. No issues...well except for the occasional Mg deficiency (damn White Widows) which I was eventually able to eliminate. So much easier to add a little Mg rather then playing catch-up.
Where was I...Oh, yes: Very good info Michael.
Cheers,
