Just a seeding soil Pete mix. 2 cfl lights and a small LED strip light and only water with natural spring water from a nearby source, no nutes added yet

Hi Darkice,
Have to say you're off to a good start. Plants look healthy. Note the color of the leaves. That's probably your plants natural color. An overfed plant would reveal a much darker color. So that "young plant" soil is really doing the trick. Plant loves it.

I'm just going to talk about water for a sec. Not that you are doing anything wrong. I do hydro so I think about water a lot.

Natural spring water is bottled "as is" from the ground. For plant use it's a complete unknown. Read the label and see if it has a chemical analysis of the minerals. I've heard of spring water as being as high as 600ppm. Tasty for people but not the best for plants. If water is around 200ppm then it will be good.

Water labeled as "drinking water" is usually city water run through a RO filter...read the small print.

Is this to be an organic grow? How bad is your tap water? Just trying to help you get ahead of the curve since, as the plant grows, it will be increasingly difficult to be buying store bought water .
Cheers,
JD

hey JD. I appreciate the input I’m very green myself so taking in all the info I can get and my spring water is literally a fresh run off, I’m in England and the water is from the hills of Glastonbury tor, from the chalice well, where the holy grail is ment to be buried I know it ment to have a high mineral content as it’s said to be healing water the cobble path it runs into is orange as is high in iron and or copper. I wouldn’t know the ph of the water or my tap water. Of the PPM I just figured the natural spring would be better than tap and know it doesn’t hold any chemicals. Sorry I haven’t been of much help on the Avenue haha and just got some liquid tomato feed for nutes when she’s ready that has mag and seaweed in? I guess it will be worth investing in one of the ppm sticks? And a ph checker? Cheers dudes =]

Darkice,
No real need to buy a meter. You should be able to get a "water quality report" from your local water district. Here in the states can usually be found online. But if you're going to continue growing...you will eventually want a meter.

When you make ice cubes from your tap water...are the cubes clear or milky/cloudy. The less minerals means clearer ice cubes. You could do that with your mineral water too.
Cheers,
JD

Ok I will have a look online as yes the environmental health test all water sources here too so should be some data online, and brilliant idea with ice cubes and my tap ice cubes seem to be about half and half to be honest but I have a granule charcoal water filter that I should probs use? Thank you for your advice, I’m excited to see her blossom into a mature young lady =] only doing 1 plant a time for personal as don’t want to be giving money to street dealers so will be a slow steady race but I will be able to divulge everything into 1 so I don’t end up getting caught out with anything, next seed I have is a Royal queen quick auto flower which I’m also keen to see :)

I understand. My beef wasn't the money..I mean everybody has to earn a living. It was the uncertain quality of the product. Made a commitment to only smoke what I grow. Gotta admit I cheated on that one because I now have a dispensary right on the road to the grocery store. Too tempting. lol

And on your charcoal filter. They work great for removing odors and taste from water but don't do too much to the ppm. so may as well save that for your drinking water.

Also when you do start nutes...I'm sure you know not to follow the dosage directions. Always start lower and ease up so you don't burn anything.

Not bad. Off to a nice start. Keep doing what you're doing. If you never had jack before or grew it... Enjoy, you're in for a treat. Whos jack is it?

Yeah totally agree they gotta make money. But it’s money for shit weed, in England where I am it’s £10 for a gram of crap or even 0.9 it’s daylight robbery and I ain’t paying that to also get screwed on weight. Bad times but everyone seems to pay it so just the way it is now

. I bought the royal queen quick flower and got it as a free seed by I believe greenhouse seeds or something long those line, I’m enjoying the task of being creative with a cabinet grow and the wealth of knowledge I’m getting from the internet, altogether they are very interesting plants and all have there own little qwerks by what I read, not growing her too big as won’t fit in my cabinet once she gets to flower so I gotta go steady and make sure I plan it right, and I also have no idea if it’s auto flower or not as it didn’t say :O so I guess we will see

It's probably not. Link the seed on their website and maybe we can help.

With your limited head room id look into a small scrog. You'll do alright
