"At the Sound of the Trumpet"
During his lifetime (1503-1566), French prophet-healer Nostradamus made a spot-on prediction that France's king would soon die. He also predicted the Great London Fire of 1666, more than a century in the future. One of his four-line prophetic poems, called quatrains, pinpointed the year 1999 and described an event much like the aerial terrorist attack on New York City's World Trade Center:
In the year 1999, in the seventh month,
from the sky will come the great King of Terror,
bringing back to life the great King of the Mongols.
Before and after, Mars will reign by good fortune.
That of course happened on September 11, 2001, not in 1999 in July or even that September (the prophet's original French says
sept). But it was close, and five distressing prophecies mentioning a "trumpet" have now stirred up fresh fascination with the prophecies of Nostradamus.
Nostradamus wrote 942 "prophecies" he said spanned the years 1555 to 3797, using symbolic language to describe future wars and events. He predicted three powerful political "Anti-Christs." Most occultists agree that the first two were Napoleon and Hitler. They disagree about whether the third Anti-Christ has come and gone, is currently alive, or has yet to be born.

A Grain of Salt
Unless you own his original book and know the facts about his life, take information about Nostradamus and his prophecies with several grains of salt. Many falsehoods and "prophecies" he did not write are floating around on the Internet.
Nostradamus first published his prophecies as four-line rhymed poems, called quatrains, in 1555; he was 51 years old. After his death the complete
Prophecies of Nostradamus were collected into one volume as books of 100 prophecies each, plus one, and that is how they were first published in 1568. The "1999" prophecy is known as "10.72" (book 10, quatrain #72).
These units of 100 prophecies each are sometimes called "centuries" but that refers only to the units, not centuries of time.
Another grain of salt: Translations from 1500s French into 21st-century English can be an issue. The original "King of the Mongols" phrase in prophecy 10.72 does not say "Mongols" but
Angolmois, a word Nostradamus made up. It sounds rather like "Mongols," but that's only a guess. Literally,
Angolmois means "Angol people," which might refer instead to the British, who in French are called
Anglais, and their nation
Angleterre. That's also a guess.
"Mongols" in this prophecy might literally mean Mongolians, but interpreters claim it could also signify the Chinese, Koreans, Central Asians, or Muslims. The "king" is identified variously as Genghis Khan, Osama bin Laden, a Chinese or Korean leader, or Vladimir Putin, appointed Russia's prime minister on August 9, 1999. August is the eighth month, not the seventh, but it's close enough...
Pass the salt.
Might the Prophet's Word "Egypt" Refer to the Whole Middle East?

The "Trump Prophecies"
Nostradamus wrote the prophecies as they occurred to him and not in chronological order. The "1999" quatrain above is one of the few specifically dated. This doesn't mean, however, that the next quatrain discusses the year 2000 or beyond. The prophecies were arranged at random. Seekers must sift through all 924 prophecies to find one or more that seem to fit the circumstances.
So it is with the prophecies linked to President Donald Trump, symbolically associated with the word "trumpet," which occurs five times in the
Prophecies.
1.40
The false trumpet concealing madness
will cause Byzantium to change its laws.
From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants
the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.
1.57
The trumpet shakes with great discord.
An agreement broken: lifting the face to heaven:
the bloody mouth will swim with blood;
the face anointed with milk and honey lies on the ground.
2.44
The Eagle driven back around the tents
will be chased from there by other birds:
when the noise of cymbals, trumpets and bells
will restore the senses of the senseless lady.
3.50
The republic of the great city
will not want to consent to the great severity:
King summoned by trumpet to go out,
the ladder at the wall, the city will repent.
10.73 through 76 (this sequence seems to tell a complete story)
The present time together with the past
will be judged by the great Joker:
the world too late will be tired of him,
and through the clergy oath-taker disloyal.
10.74
The year of the great seventh number accomplished,
it will appear at the time of the games of slaughter:
not far from the great millennial age,
when the buried will go out from their tombs.
10.75
Long awaited he will never return
in Europe, he will appear in Asia:
one of the league issued from the great Hermes,
and he will grow over all the kings of the East.
10.76
The great Senate will ordain the triumph
for one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out:
At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be
put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled.
