they have these LM301b strips for £39.99 at a local DIYLED shop in the uk and I was considering purchasing them since they come with build on heatsink.
5x LM301B strips & hlg320 48v for 350w and a total cost of £290

£290 for 350w of top line diodes is good business to me?
Yes, basicly. The actual light will be spightly less than 350, more like 320.

In any case i think its a great deal, especially if run offgrid. Also, since this config is in paralell you could just add more strips from your shop if at a later point hed like to spread his watts out further.

The H-INFLUX 301B chips are rated for 55c compared to the F- series 561's at 65c.
So what kind of efficiency gain do I get by running my F-series strips at 34c ? Thermal management is my top concern when running diodes or any electrical devices.
