As long as they're peruvianus it's all good..didn't know there's different varieties.that's pretty cool..I was worried of it being a pilocereus or something non-active

IMG_9262.JPG IMG_9261.JPG So I just found these two labeled Trichocereus Pachanoi from Lowes. Most of the cactus is healthy and green except for rot at the base and rot at the tip. Are these salvagable? Just cut the rot off/put cinnamon powder annd wait to callous/treat like a cutting? Or is it not worth it

I would have cut it up in 3 slices and rooted them all (take note of which side is the bottom...)
Re the rotting cactus, I'd cut those bits off if it is dry enough there for it all to skin over.

Yea those are still nice and healthy green, great buy. These make great houseplants.
Just been over handled and watered daily for a week or two.
3 yrs from now, you'll be looking up HCI extraction, grinning ear to ear.

I'm in yr 1, already boiled down the bottom cuts and gave away a couple nice ones to a newly minted Doctor for a graduation gift. Now she has a new hobby on her desk at work, and is already looking where she packed her separation funnel.

I hope they're somewhat active ! I've heard that department stores/ many US nurseries stock the dreaded 'PC' pachanoi :(
