Do LED (QB boards) cause less stretching & generate more frost than HPS?

It seems like they stretch less and may be frostier. I am running HLG 600-H V2.
I'm not sure but I'm on the same adventure and will find out in a few months. I've been meaning to ask this so if any QB experts would like to chime in, much appreciated.

I'm starting out with (2) QB304 dual board kits. One of them is 4000K which is what I have on at the moment. The other one is 3000K.
Once my plant is large, I'm going to transition from overhead lighting to vertical lighting by hanging these on the sides. I'm looking to get 2 more kits so I have one kit on each side of the plant. Looks like 3500K and 2700K are now available. Does anyone have opinions on the mix of spectrum during late veg and into flowering? Was considering one of each...

So each of these pure Sativas is sharing 270w of QB with the other. Purple Haze x Malawi and Oldtimer’s Haze. 2x QB288 V2s @ 135w each. 3000k.

Then this stacked-tight P98 is under 200w of COB. 3500k.

I’d like to see the equivalent in HPS keep near the same internodal spacing at 18-24”.

What is the distance from plant top to light in picture #2. I've been having trouble trying to figure out how close I can get with 3 week seedlings.
Also, what spectrum is this?

I put mine on like 15% power over my week olds at about 12" and it was too much, theyre down to the point that they'll turn off if i dim them any more and at about 18" they seem to be happier now.

just a heads up that 3000K in an HPS, 3000K in LED, 3000K in fluorescent, and 3000K in CMH are all completely different spectra.

color temp is a very very simplified way of describing the quality of light

And, do you have an opinion on mixing spectrums with QB lights? I will be growing only 1 plant but it will be vegged for 10 or 12 weeks. I'm thinking 4 QB kits hung vertically aimed at the side of the plant. (1) 2700K, (1) 3000K, (1) 3500K and (1) 4000K was what I'm leaning towards but I havent decided. I already have the 4000K and 3000K but I'll be needing to buy 2 more in a few months. What would you do?

Four dual-board kits would be an awful lot of light. What size is your space?

color temp is just one measurement and there are an infinite number of spectra that can create a given color temp

look at spectra of full sunlight, ~5500k

unless youre going to use some colors during veg and different ones during bloom, no point in that. they are all the same tech with different thicknesses of phosphor. for a given CRI if you take 3000k, 3500k, and 4000k and can uniformly mix them, the result is... 3500k more or less

pick a spectrum and use it, and it will be more uniform
