That's my problem with "free press" I'm sorry, the press shouldn't have 100% "freedom" because there's no voting tests given. Hence, a completely free press is a recipe for disaster, like what we saw in the past presidential elections, since I was born.
The press should be held accountable to not write outright lies, and then say "oh, it's just their opinion, man!" Nope, that doesn't fly. There's too many gullible people out there who believe Alex Jones, as to those who believe Mother Jones or Vox.

Americans stood idly by when the Federal Government did away with fairness and accuracy standards.
They continued to cite Fix News even after it successfully defended itself in a lawsuit that accused it of manufacturing news- in other words, LYING- by saying it was merely an entertainment outlet.
If you want news you now have to go looking for it. The major outlets have realized that most Americans not only don't care but are eager to swallow whatever they're fed.
Read 'Bad News' by former CBS Senior Correspondent Tom Fenton for insights on how this ball got rolling decades ago.
Carefully read any article I post here, especially if Smogdog or anyone else here objects. If they object to the source, bookmark it and read several articles pasted there...
And then think critically. It's a lost art anymore.
Is Russia really an existential threat to America or are they just trying to defend themselves against a totally out of control imperialist power trying to justify history's largest defense budgets?

Not sure I'd call him a radical, posting on riu in the middle of the night is about as proactive as he gets, he also doesn't believe in violence, or so he says. I catch a heavy scent of bullshit and athoritarianism from tty, mirroring Putin/trump on too many issues to just be coincidence. Maybe we can get some other's opinions on it, would be interesting.

Because tty has emotional and behavioral issues that make him as bipolar in politics as he is socially we can't use him as a standard for what Progressives(TM) advocate. The movement he favors does not advocate progressive change, they advocate all or nothing.
The GOP radical right advocates their policies with the same impatience with gradual change. So, I called Progressives(TM) radical for their impatience. They are clearly not radical left in social policies, they advocate socialist programs in a capitalist society. I do think that demanding immediate implementation all of their policies -- universal health care, the overhaul of campaign financing, abandoning fossil fuel use, free college, $15 minimum wage, others -- is radical in schedule BUT not radical in policy.
Home Depot and Lowes in that area shouldn't be selling them tiki torches..i find them to be complicit before the fact.
