Just want to let you guys know about this newer place in Northbound Mall in the NW called Harvest Medicine (hmed.ca). absolutely terrible experience and I was not even the one getting a prescription.
I got my prescription from Natural Health Services (NHS) 2 weeks ago. It was busy as heck but they took me in on time and I was out in 20 minutes including their "Bud Genius". No one was pushy and everyone was knowledgeable when I asked questions (im not a newbie) about the regulations and laws.
I took my wife to HMED today to get her prescription but NHS was booked for weeks. The doc portion was quick but the docs were tight lipped about anything other that them writing a prescription. Our main goal was to add additional plants to the ACMPR. They were all pretty clueless to this or at least played it that way. They kept pushing garbage TWEED as the LP and gave a lot of false information on growing, the existence of being allowd to grow and general cannabis knowledge. the Genius guy (the LP salesman) told my wife about a THC TWEED cream to put on the vag for painful sex and that the cream stays localized. This was out of the fucking blue! just cause she was a female! ack!
They also were pushing her not to grow because its 6 months wait and it would be legal soon anyway. They also tried to say that if she wanted to grow it would take away from her LP supply (remember we were not here to buy poison garbage from LP's). so she decided to make her 3g presciption to 1g LP and 2g ACMPR. This was completly false and done completely wrong. I got my 3g prescription from doc at NHS and they submitted it without any issues ($20) while still allowing full grams from LP which I plan on using once for the damn label or bag.
She goes to reception and was told there is no charge for them to submit the form. Remember at first they had no idea about cultivating your own supply...Receptionist then says within 30 seconds its $35...ok then she goes back and talks with someone and says its actually $50! we walked right out and will go to NHS for the followup instead and at that time get the ACMPR filled out.
The receptionist was not very professional as well, told my wife (when gasped at the $50 charge) that she is lucky they only charge $50 cause everyone else charges $200+.
STAY AWAY, they have zero knowledge and are there only to collect Alberta Healthcare $$ and front for the LP's
YOU + ACMPR Permit = NO LP MONEY = BAD for HMED
EDIT: Sorry I got mixed up in the info, the receptionist was nice and not the one that did the zero to fifty charge, it was one of the people from the "education centre".
