What to do when soil is 8 ph

I did what I thought was a 50/50 blend of fox farms ocean and happy frog. Then I added 1/3 of that of perlite. My soil is reading 8. I read organic way is to use lime? Either way I need help quick to save my ladies. Should I order ph down

Lemon juice, vinegar, add to your water and you'll bring things down.

Just be careful, don't shift the ph too quickly because I THINK that can also shock the plant which is not what you want.

How do I know how much to add? They’re yellow and one leaf is dried up seedling. Trying to save them

Ph down is for your water/nute mix. Cant help much without knowing any details. Have you been using nutes? Perhaps you need to flush the soil? Flushing wont bring it down if the soil was always high. Look into adding lime. Its available everywhere pretty cheap. Good luck

No nutes yet. I have advanced nutrients trio the bloom micro and grow. Should I add that? It’s supposedly “ph perfect”

Your ph is 8, at a guess I would start adjusting your water so it's at 6-6.5 and flush.

Or, as I found out the hard way with dirt that was too hot, get them transplanted into something "softer" as soon as possible, immediately I'm thinking a coco mix with maybe some of your FF or HF or, as suggested, get a mix made up with lime so the ph is lower and get the seedling into that asap.

No, dont give em nutes unless they need em. All your grow setup info would help us help you. How old are they?

One popped on 8/4 other was 8/14. Same size. Others from 8/4 are 10 leafed already

If you have a ph pen do a slurry test. The longer they are in soil that is too high or low the more unhealthy theyll be. Ph thats off will cause you all sorts of head and heartache

So if I used some AN rested the water and if it was 6.5 or less it would be beneficial ? How much to add water wise per 1gal container

The stress of a transplant into something "softer" will be nothing compared to what she's going through now, I had to do it and the difference within 48 hours was astounding and I did get a very healthy plant in the end.

Like I reckon everyone here, you just had a hard lesson but it's recoverable.

If the soil itself has a high ph then ph'ed water/nutes wont help. Gotta get the soils ph in check. Either transplant with new medium or add lime to the current stuff. If it was me id transplant due to how young the girls are. Stress is bad enough but stress on babies is terrible. And dont give em nutes till they ask

How are you measuring the ph of your soil, and where are you taking the sample from?
What was the ph of your soil when you potted?

How much lime have you already used?
Lime is a sweetener. It raises alkalinity.

Liquid sulphur is a good way of acidifying soil. But always dilute it much more than the label states.

I agree with Fubard.
If you have only just transplanted, id just transplant into some better soil.
I'd check the ph of your replacement soil before transplanting as well.

How are you testing the soil? If a cheap probe combo meter ignore it. If a pen type make sure it’s calibrated.

I have used ocean forest for years and happy frog previously and have tried mixing them like you before and with general hydro ph drops it is always in the 6.5 ph range.

The lime and or oyster shell is pre measured to keep it in range.

I have seen it acidic when first wet. But a few days later the buffer activated and stabilized the medium.

If you transplant, adding some lime will act as a buffer and help keep your ph in check
