Hey all, new member here. Been growing for a a few years now and finally thought it was time to sign up for a forum and ask some questions I've had..
I'm a week into growing my Cinderella 99 and she sprouted last Saturday. I switched to LED's two grows ago and have liked the results, with the heat and electricity going down it was a nice change. The yield was definitely lower compared to my old HPS/MH setup though
I'm using a Mars Hydro 720w Reflector series in a 2x4x7 tent. I thought this was the light to get for great results, but after getting my last harvest, the yield was low again and the only thing I can tie that to, would be switching to LED's. I used to get about 300 grams a harvest from my 400watt MH/HPS. Now I'm only getting about 200-220 grams a grow from the 720watt, which really only pulls in about 290watts. When I first researched LED's it was very easy to get distracted by the numbers they claim the lights put out. When you first dive into the LED world and read 720watts you think, wow that's a lot, but its not really even close to that, or at least that's what I am finding. So now I am looking at real LED companies. I think I'm going to go with the "Optic 1 Xl" LED light . I would post a link, but I'm too new of a member It's true color, not burple. I think 2 of them would be really good in my 2x4x7 tent. Does anyone have experience with this light? Looks very promising.
Now that you have some background, my question is- Am I safe to switch to the Optic 1 XL after the plants have been growing under the Mars Hydro burple light for a week? I'm worried, because when I first got the Mars Hydro, I used it to flower my plants that had already been vegged under a 400watt MH, and I believe the plants became very stunted from this change, as there was little growth after I switched to LED's.
So sorry for the lengthy post and thank you for any help!!
