Best feeding schedule for an auto-feed Hempy

So like the title says, I have 2 Hempy's going right now. Have a DRT 1-A recycle timer being used from a previous grow. I've tried 3 schedules just for a few days each so don't have any "real" results.

once per 24 hrs
once every 12 hrs
once every 8 hours

my first feeding is about 30 minutes after lights come on. the timer length is about 1.5 minutes (a good 20 to 30 seconds of run-off)

anybody have any experience and/or advice? is more than once a day overkill?

I prefer every 36 or 48 hours for a 2 litre pop bottle, 3 gallon buckets every 4 or 5 days

...so if those are your only choices, then go with every 24 hours, but since you only have 2 plants I would water manually IMHO and feed when required

If it starts drooping then you know every 24 hours is too often, if not you're good to go

the amount of lights, heat/RH, wind,. size of buckets and type of medium will influence how often they require watering.

I'm a firm believer in allowing a hempy to go quite dry to bone dry before feeding

This is my first MJ grow in Hempys. I've done tomatoes outside for the last 2 seasons in Hempys and they have been HUGE!

I like the idea of letting them get dry to bone dry before feeding. Have you done that for awhile?? Can they get too dry?

yes they can get too dry, my current grow I was watering every 48 hours, some were drooping near the last few hours so I increased the rate to every 36 hours

Let your hempy tell you when it's happy and when it's not...just got to read the plant and react to what it needs

Both frequent and infrequent waterings work well. I personally believe I get better results by letting them dry, just as ISK stated. It's not unusual for me to hold off watering until the point of slight wilting.

thanks for the advice. i'm going auto feed because i am not able to tend to them for 4 to 6 days at a time. i think i'm going to stick to once aday just to be on the safe side. when i tried twice and thrice a day, i started to see some issues from overfeeding.

i've done a succesfull hempy bucket grow some months ago with a 12 litres container, and i was watering after the first weeks of veg with 5 litres of water + nutrients every 3.5 days, sometimes every 5 days with no noticeable problems (excess of nutrients, overwatering, etc) in the leaves... i tend to believe i was lucky...

i've moved on to auto feed dtw GH waterfarms. much better yields than hempys.

Me too...I think it's the aggressive aeration.

super simple really. the blue tube on the side. cut it one inch above the white line and that becomes your drain. i top feed and go for about 20% runoff after water starts coming out the top of the tube. fresh nutes at the proper pH once per day.

Depending on medium it might not make a difference. I used to water rockwool hempys every 3 days wen I had to and twice a day when I could. It’s all about oxygen. Aslong as the media holds enough oxygen without being saturated u can water all day every day

hempys were fun to do but having done dwc/rdwc prior to hempys, it was always in the back of my mind that plant growth and final results were way better in dwc. hence the move to waterfarms which i think are fantastic. i do a few tomato plants outside in hempys that get well over 6 ft tall and tons of fruit.
