Everything starts with a goal and a plan. Right now I have the goal, but not the complete plan.
At the moment I have a goal to create a personal strain over time (extended amount of time since I am a little grower) for myself (and/or given freely to others). For now my question is how much I need to expand to accommodate short term benchmarks.
I have 66 f1s of Bodhi Silver Mountain. I currently grow in a single 5x5 grow tent (I have space, 20x10 room, to have more tents. I want to pheno hunt out of these to find 4 females and 4 males to create f2s.
What do you think is the minimum I need to expand to begin this project? I am thinking there is no need to fully grow out every single plant before deciding some of who makes the cut and won't. So at the minimum I need 2 more tents. One for males when they are found and another to have the space for starting this many plants(or maybe that's just enough space to do 30 or So plants at a time). So maybe 2 more 5x5s. I think I can probably narrow it down to 12 females and do 6 in each of the two female 5x5s and fit however many males I can in the male tent as I narrow it down further. Probably actually need one more tent to keep the clones from everybody, not sure what size would be needed. Maybe 3x3 or 4x4.
If I use 6inch filters on all three tents, can I merge all their exhausts to a single 10in hole outside? Or will that cause too much of a bottleneck and make back pressure?
Still very much in planning stages. Atm all I have is the one tent, which I am growing in currently, and the seeds. Am in no way in a rush to begin and plan on taking it slowly and deliberately. (Quantity of product is not something I am after during this process, quality of the plants found is.) I understand pheno hunting for breeding requires more than one go of it and understand it is time consuming. I also understand further testing of the plants chosen is required after narrowing it down initially, etc etc.
All advice is wanted and appreciated! Thanks if you read this long ass post!
