First time growing outdoors. Two plants, nebula and a golden lemons. The only one that has it is the golden lemons. Very tall, 12ft,( I didn't top them or super crop or anything, they look like pine trees.) They are both in their 3rd week of flower, with a nice bud structure forming. I know first hand what powdery mildew can do. It devastating. Happened within the last 2 days, I check on them almost daily. Infection is on 3 of the lower branches, I have since cut them off. Am I ok, or is there any measure I can take to nip this in the bud, so to speak.

nice. Mother earth news has an article on milk for pm also. As an added benifit soft shelled insects like aphids can not digest the milk sugars and it kills them

There is a gentleman on Youtube (Rascal Farmer). He's been battling PM for a very long time, using many different methods of treatment. Look his channel up and give it a good look. His perseverance in combating PM is second to none in my opinion. You may gain some perspective. From what I've seen, and this is not by experience, just through observation of other's grows; it's a bitch to control outside because so many variables (namely humidity and temperature) are out of your control when playing cards with mother nature. Good luck though for sure.

Why is that? I mean, I've heard that before, but the spray says you can use it one day up until harvest.

You have to make sure you wash the buds though, just a quick rinse or dunk at harvest to get rid of anything remaining

Last winter i was sick and the owner of the hydro shop worked a few days. Guy came in with pm and Damon suggested sulfur for the pm. Huy came back 3 weeks later razing hell. Ruined 2 pounds of flower that was totaly unsmokable.

Maybe he didn't dilute properly? The stuff I'm using specifically says you can use it up to 1 day before harvest, it's not noticeable unless you don't dilute it properly.

I would bet you the guy at the hydro store either didn't stay on top of the PM, or there were other issues. I've been dealing with PM on one strain now for a year, and after this run I'm gonna start fresh... Once you get PM, it can reoccur so easily

That causes lung disease among other problems. Look that shit up before selling it. Thats the biggest problem with the black market for canabis. The main reason i started growing my own.

Lol .... So it's safe to spray on your tomatoes, then feed them to children the next day, but you think if it's sprayed on flowers it's going to be poisonous?

Sorry pal, I disagree, unless you can point me to where it says sulfur dust in small amounts is poisonous, and not some hippie garbage, im not buying it.

edit; making sure I repeat this, as I said earlier, wash your buds before hanging them. if you're using ice-water you may lose trichomes, otherwise you're just washing off crap

You're not understanding. Let me be clear for the future readers. It's a old gardening technique people have been using for a long time. At 5mL per liter being diluted, it is not going to produce sulfur dioxide, particularly after being rinsed be rain/after chop rinse

If it's sticking, you're doing something wrong, such as using way too much. I will update with some pics tomorrow so you can understand, or you can fear monger over it all you like.

If you have it tested and its clean thats all that matters to most. Cigs and fentanal are sold legaly and pass there testing but both will kill ya. The gov has a tollerable levle that they will allow to pass. Personaly i will pass on sulfur after the first week of flower. There are other ways to protect your plants.

Personally, I've never had much success with hydrogen peroxide, milk made my buds smell quite unpleasant, and baking soda didn't seem to do anything.

I'm always open to new suggestions. Every time I've gotten powdery mold inside, it's been from lack of airflow. Outdoors is where you can't do too much aside from greenhouse

I've had some success spraying with denatured alcohol. I looked it up and it's a methanol/ethanol mix, neither is toxic to plants. I would assume there would be zero residual as the alcohols evaporate off. I mix it 50/50 with water. Kleen Strip Alcohol fuel can be had at home depot for $9 a gallon.
I had some bad pm last week, brought them inside and treated with the alc. They are back to looking healthy and I just lost some lower leaves. Seems to also be effective on mites
