Gl80 First grow

First grow for me as the title says. I have a gl80 grow tent with a 4in inline fan/ 4x12 carbon filter, 600 watt led.the gl80 fit perfectly in my closet, seeing as how theres an extra section in the far side.

I can only have two adult plants so as of now i have 8 seeds in peat pellets germinating currently 2nd day so not much to see. The seeds are regular so going to have to sex them so that’ll be fun.
I am going to use all bio canna products as well, I have used an atomizer to mist the peat pellets with a canna rhizo and bio vege as well, hopefully this stuff works well.
Strains are California sour and Valley fire from Dusted bud genetics.

Any help or suggestions for a newbie is appreciated and welcome. gonna put the couple pics i have too.
My RH is around 50 any suggestions on how to maintain optimal humidity in the tent? the peat plugs are in a seedling tray so theyre fine for a couple more days at least.

Also i have been using a seedling heating mat with a tupper ware of water on top with the towel and water bowl method to try and maintain humidity arpund 50-55%. i have been using my normal heat (free heat at my place) to keep ambient temps arpund 71-72 degrees which has translated into roughly 68-70 in the tent. im afraid ita a tad too cold for the seedling like that so we”ll see what happens

so i dont know if i fucked somethjng up but i realized i never squeezed out the excess water inthe peat plugs so maybe thats why the seedlings seemed to be having trouble. so far had to get rid of three, two didnt shoot out a taproot and one just didnt do anything. i redid 8 more seeds, got 4 more in peat plugs( which i aqueezed out and set in a solo cup with a ziploc on top). these are all regular seeds so im just trying to catch the best female out of each strain. its my first grow so hopefully can get over some of these growing pains for when my feminized and auto flower seeds come next week. i have had a seedling heater running 24:7 with a bowl of water on top to keep himidity around 55. it also keeps the tenps in the tent in the 75-80 range. i turn it off before i sleep just to give the heater a break and isually tenp drops to 71 when i get up. posting these pictures any suggestions or advice lmk please.

all my seedlings are stretching figuring out that leds are complete garbage unless you drop at least a grand on a super good one. going to get hid now cant do this already been fkkkkkkd

Hi mate best way to germinate seedling is paper towel technique then as soon as they show a tap root usually 24-48 hours put them tap root down into a jiffy or similar keep them in a humidity dome with the vent shut and spray water on the inside of lid and them once a day keep the light nice and close to top of dome bout foo away that way it will also keep them warm so no need for a mat. Once they have broken surface still leave the dome on for about a week then at that point you will be ok to remove dome and give a small watering with something like formulex at a low dose and don’t then water again until they get almost dry again the biggest reason for slow growth early on is to much water good luck buddy

so i got 2 14 watt t5s to supplement the piece of shit led i had, i also have a viparspectra 600 watt led coming tomorrow. will it be ok to run the t5s and the les at same time? worried more about flowering with just the led, but thinking of maybe getting extra cfls to supplement the flowering when it happens.

i replanted those dixie cup seedlings into 4 x 4, you were right, too much water, i didnt swueeze out the peat plugs originally and they were like mud, hopefully the terra canna pro plus will draw out some of that moisture and allow the roots to grow better in the 4 x 4 pots

Your on the right track I personally don’t like the Christmas’s tree type led but that’s not to say many people don’t use them if it’s a 600w then that will be fine just keep it at a good distance until they are fairly established or you will open up all sorts of other problems keep at it

A small tip is not to put it taproot down. The plant knows which way is down, so the taproot will go that way no matter what, if you place the seed in sideways, then the plant will send its taproot down but the seed has more work to go through to pop up, helping get that shell off the coteylon leaves. Something I heard from an old head and have been doing with no issues. (Also makes sense)

ok so im about 1000$ in and am finding out shit everyday. first off, cheap ass piece of shit led from walmart only runs 100 watts, i bought another cheap asss viperspectra 600, which draws 275 watts that should be here tonorrow so i can return the piece of shit led to walmart. in the meantime, you can see the seedligs stretchig so i bought a 2 tube t5 flourescent to hang next to the led to help veg. i am already ordering a 250 watt hps/mh which should be perfect for my tent, i just was fooled like probably alot of others by the whole chinese piece of dog shit led trap. but for the remainder of this grow ill use the viperspectra 600 and see what happens. heres updated pics from today.

also i dont think i will ise peat plugs, i messed them up, was easier sprouting taproot then doing like you said and putting it in my TERRA CANN PRO PLUS. am i not sposed to use nutrients in this stuff? i basically just bought a bunch of ahit not knowing anything about anything, noon af, but i am in the mindset if i spend money and get fucked over, i will learn faster lol

if your using bottled nutes don't use them off the bat. Let the seedling get established first.

couple questions too, if im using CANN TERR PRO PLUS, should i not be giving the plants ANYTHIG EXCEPT RO WATER FOR FIRST TWO WEEKS? or should i follow the feeding schedule for the FULL BIO CANNA product line ( its all organic nutes ) i do have mg cal also


my juice solition currently is

2ml bio vege
4 ml canna rhizo
goes into—-

ro water with 1 tsp organic mg/cal


i ph adjusted the final product to 6.3


so feed the seedlings.....

1. plain ro water
2. plain tap water- mine is drinkable and usuable, not great but whatever
3. the nutrient solution water losted above
4. plain ro water with mg cal added and then ph’ed
which one should i use for now?

ok so ill wait until the plants are established to add ANYTHING to the water or soil, sounds better anyways. ill keep the nitrients i have mixed in the fridge for the time being so they dont go bad lol. cool thanks for the info buddy. i should get the viparspectra 600watt(600 watt my ass) tomorrow and then get rid of the POSheet led thats in there now. i figured the other day the reason they were stretching was because of the light, which after doing a little research i am pretty sure is the case.

kk thanks a ton for talikng with me, trying to keep this somewhat secret so been hard not being able to communicate directly with someone telling me itll be alright lol. being my first grow i used regular seeds i wish i wouldve used the feminized but i thought it would give me some better experience lol. next groq i have autos and fems, no more regular seeds for me ever haha

ok im super frustrated with relectors and hid lights online, i have a gl80 tent, it is approx 6.25-6.5 sq feet. i am going to get a 250watt hps, but am really confused about the reflectors, should i get a cool tube or just an open air reflector? im worried about heat so im thinking the cool tube??

also do i need a metal halide nowadays or not? hearing multiple things about hps being fine throughout now?
