C99 grow Samsung LED F strips

I would suggest upping the calmag a bit. Maybe 3.5-4ml per gal. Run like that for a couple day and see if the discoloration stops. Also reading through I didnt see a set watering schedule. How often and much are you watering?

I will leave you with this to think on. As a plant that can not only live in water but thrive in it, how does over watering make sense?

fantastic, someone also replied saying c99 is a calmag hog, thx. ive been adding calmag every watering tho only lights doses maybe 2ml/gal.......im gonna up it ~4ml i think ur on it...

twice a day i water now - last 3 or 4 days
up to that was once a day
shes in a 5gal of coco, watering at lights on and again 2 hours before off ...always 20%+ runoff

Awesome! After looking closer at the pics, 4ml per gallon should do the trick. If not, I would say it is do to either not enough water or inconsistent timing of watering. Where you are at now two waterings is good especially when crunched on time but if you could make it 3, it would be worth the time invested. At the stage you are at with coco and 5 gallon pots I would run 2000ml each for first two waterings with nutes and another 1000-1500 at the end of the day of just water. Its always gonna be different as all plants are different but keep in mind you want about 10% run off and you will be good.

If ya dont have a hanna meter I also highly recommend grabbing one. It will really help with dailing in your feeding process.

Overwatering cannabis is certainly possible. Happens every day.

As a dwc’r it’s funny to hear about too much water.

But, part of overwatering means not enough oxygen in root zone, also means flushing out the nutes you put in.

Have no clue what is right for coco, but expect it can be ovrdone in both directions, too much/too little.

@Dachem2010 is growing some kush under leds and pointed this out...big thx
Rushed when originally posted.

Big flaw, not necessarily fatal, is they grew at 450 ppfd, ok for veg; but should be higher for flower, min 600 imo.

Probably should have done a range of flowering intensities, and 45 days is short for cannabinoid levels.

Still, progress!

Not wanting to go off topic of ops grow but this may help him in the future so...

With coco I always recommend fabric pots. It allows the coco to breathe more and also allows for the medium to dry faster which means more watering can happen.

When I hear "over water" its like hearing "nute burn" or some other general statement that means and defines nothing. Example: you have nute burn because your plants are getting brown tips. Reality is you likely have a deficiency of calmag, which doesnt even make since because "nute burn" would be too much nutes instead of the opposite.

Over watering = lack of proper aeration. A medium will saturate with x amount of water any remaining water is going to be run off. If your aeration is bad, that water has no where to go and just sits in the medium and this is where problems start that we tend to chalk up as over watering.

As for run off, why only look for 10% run off vs the 20% rule of thumb. One is it will save money on water bill and nutes. The big thing here though is the why we want run off in coco and that answer is because we need to ensure complete saturation of the medium. At 10% run off you are definitely hitting that mark.

fk yea im with you guys on this...

dwc has been such a breeze, i cant wait to finish out this darn coco...but i bet i can get it on track.

i believe if i run more waterings throut the day ill provide way more oxygen...right?
hand watering for this run, so maybe ill just rig a big bucket rez and feed line....for easy quick waterings throut the day....

was thinking  the 5 gal pot only has drain holes around the rim....think drilling a bunch holes in the flat bottom part could provide even better drainage AND aeration ? risk of damaging the roots tho ?

I am not against automation for watering but if it is my call, roll up them selves and lets get to watering lol. Its a chore and half but it gives me time to inspect my plants daily and ensures i always know my plants are watered.

We have an RO system we run into few 55g barrels for storage. I transfer water from there to a 5 gallon bucket to mix nutes, then use a (big) measuring cup to water the plants.

I wouldn't worry too much about the pots at this point. Just keep in mind next time that coco and fabric pots go together like PBnJ. :eyesmoke:

Day 33 of 12/12

Toned down the lights 270w @10" / flux 54,000/ ppfd about 800

last 4 waterings light nutes---
protekt-calmag-floranovabloom-hydroguard
ph 6.0 @ ~500ppm runoff / will inrease slowly
up'd calmag @ 4 ml/g

leaves getting pale on top only

same here bit pale green

Watering through turns out to be important in my ROLS just to keep salts from building up. I was not really watering through and the plants showed deficiencies and lockouts and generally looked like crap and slowed growth also. Watering through fixed it in a couple weeks.

Better to have too much drainage/aeration than too little, especially indoors and more especially with LEDs as leaf temps and transpiration are lower than HIDs.

Day 35 ~ 12/12

Adding liquid KoolBloom @ 1ml/gal / reducing base nutes
Calmag @ 4ml/gal / Protekt Silica @ 1ml/gal / Hydroguard @2ml / Floranovabloom +/- total 500ppm @ pH 6.0

300w @ 10" / Flux @ 65,000 / about ~942 ppfd
lights on temps 77F @ 45% humidity

aromas of pineapple, tropical fruit cups, hints of sour grape fruit

I have two 7-gal buckets with airstones in them: one w pH’d & hydroguarded water, the other with concentrated nutes. I use a plastic cup tob top up and adjust ec, then adjust pH, every morning for my dwc buckets. During this time i can check out plant and make various other adjustments like positioning mains and defol. Doing this everyday it’s almost impossible to become sensitive to subtle changes occurring.

Day 35 ~ 12/12

Adding liquid KoolBloom @ 1ml/gal / reducing base nutes
Calmag @ 4ml/gal / Protekt Silica @ 1ml/gal / Hydroguard @2ml / Floranovabloom +/- total 700ppm @ pH 6.0

300w @ 10" / Flux @ 65,000 / about ~942 ppfd
lights on temps 77F @ 45% humidity

aromas of ripe pineapple, tropical fruit cups, hints of sour grape fruit

still fighting a little nute burn, and ph runoff is still low @ 5.3 but rising with each watering, on that note i fking hate coco....all suggestions welcome :leaf:
