get this. there's a whole amendment that you can put into your soil, that makes it so that you dont have to use toxic chemicals to "balance" your ph!

So if I'm following, your trying to bring the pH of your soil down? I would do it in steps, slowly, over a few watering. Are the plants showing stress?

i know little to nothing about hydro, wouldn't be able to tell you, i do know it's toxic in soil, that's all.

Understood, I was mainly trying to point out the error of your calling the GH product "toxic". I suppose we could have a conversation defining toxic. Since you brought it up, what's your definition?

i can agree with you, everyone does have a different understanding of toxic. thanks for staying civil about this, appreciate it.
i think that phup/down reagents are toxic becuse of how easy it is to mess up with them. i feel as if it's very unneccsary to have to go thru the hasle of putting in specifically 24 drops of the stuff, just to get it where you want it to be, even then it's not accurate because it doesnt mix around the gallon very evenly.
would you rather have to go through the hassle of phing? or be able to fill up some gallons of water, water your plants, then call it a night.
my last grow, i had some bad experience with ph. it caused me to lockout, and i wasn't able to get it out of lockout without gypsum. here's a pic of what it looked like.

My pH is at 9+ how much ammonium sulfate should I mix with a 2 gallon watering can, for a 5 gallon pot ?

Hello fellow Wisconsinite and outdoor grower!
Yes check your ph against your friends. What kind of soil are you using?
Next grow try using a lot of compost next yr and go organic, you do not have to worry about your ph.

Dont use PH Up/Down for changing the PH of your soil...they are used for adjusting the PH of your nutrient solution. Dumping a bunch of PH Down in your soil will cause more harm than good.

I have used lemon juice with good results.

I too recommend organics and not worrying about it anymore.

I dunno but be careful that stuff is super high in (n) there's some liquid lime products you can use alongside it. It can be like 23%

Dude my bad, I just noticed this was outdoor thread, so after this post I'm out.

It sounds to me like you're having problems properly pHing your water, and your looking for other ways to do it

The fact that you "mess up" using it does not make the GH product toxic.

Many of us use that or another similar pH product, so calling it toxic is of course going to attract attention..

That said, I would listen to ganja girl if I was an outdoor grower and I wouldn't use the pH crap either! ..Good luck amigo!
