This is my first indoor grow and it's in its 2nd week of flowering 12/12 today. My environment is fine temps are good, no light leaks, lights are on a timer and she hasnt beem really stressed out. She had been really taking off with growth and is loaded with white hairs everywhere and little buds are forming. There isnt any sacks in the bud or near the bud just on the stems and not a single banana. Some of them have white hairs growing out and some look like they are staring to open and hairs are coming out. It hasnt beem around any males. Any help would be amazing???

looks like a pollen sack to me.. i would say its hermied pal. if you cant see any more then you could just remove it. i would fuck it of completely if you have other girls in there that are not showing male flowers..

gutted for you..

if its the only one then spray with water and remove it.. spraying water mist in the tent will kill pollen on contact..

Looks like a banana on the middle left flower in the first pic. Someone with a better zoom than me may chime in?

As far as I am aware water doesn't kill pollen, it may disable it from flying around but if it killed it then how would plants procreate outdoors. There is also a large % of water vapour in the air (RH) so that would also kill pollen? The pollen sac shown above is not open yet so no need to spray anything in my opinion.

If the pollen sac is on a lower bud then there's a chance you can remove it and after week 4 the plant may not produce anymore. However, you need to keep your eyes constantly peeled (daily check on all node sites required which can be a pain in the proverbial.

Good luck.

Personally id let it self pollinate.
Could have alot of female seeds in the near future.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. :hump:

That being said if u planned on smoking it lol im sorry

Just carry on with it ,nip that off though ,was your hands after .Looks like you got pollen sacks pretty early too, that's not a great sign.Normally means bud with a lot of beans in

I was under the impression water made pollen inactive or destroyed it (please show me that this is not the case)..?
I would say pollination happen on dry days outdoors mainly via insects or bees which if i'm correct don't do this during the rain.. as you say there is moisture in the air but do you get wet walking down the street? no...

so your saying you can wet a load of pollen and once it is dried it will still pollinate plants? i don't think this is correct but please prove me wrong.. always learning!

anyway not had any hermie issues for a long time but i would just remove the plant if you have others that are free from male flower and concentrate your efforts on them.. again imo.

Spraying water on pollen would probably just spread the pollen. Not a great idea. Pollen is microscopic and light, and floats on air currents. Sprays of water create air currents!

Sprays of water also take particles out of the air. Whether water kills pollen or not I don't know, I would think not but don't know for sure, would like to find out as well ?

Particles like dust, sure. Maybe 95%of hydrophilic particles at best? Pollen is probably hydrophobic, and that 5+% that escapes the blast will diffuse in the air and get millions of pollen spores everywhere. I used to grow mushrooms, and you never ever ever spray anything like mold spores, pollen that sort. They are built to travel on air currents.

I spray my males down as I enter the room. The spray knocks airborne particles out of the air and causes them to stick to things, as opposed to just gusting around. It's just fine dust. Acts the same

I used to grow shrooms for a very long time (PF Fanaticus method, rip pf) and you sprayed the container several times a day, not directly on the cakes, on the other side of the plexiglass

I believe spraying would take most out of the air but certainly some would blow around as well, but I'm curious to the point does water kill pollen?

Can't say I have ever done an experiment on it but logic makes me think it wouldn't. Something to do next time I collect some.

I agree it would make it inactive in that it can't fly around as easily. Again I am only applying logic to say it wouldnt kill it though. I have washed down polinated plants then returned them to a flower cab only to find a seed or two in an un pollinated neighbouring plant. I guess the only way to find out is trying.
Anyhoo. Hope the OP has the balls to keep the plant going:) Sometime these beautiful weird things produce top quality smoke.

UPDATE:
Today after work I checked on the plants and all of those sacks have opened up and have 2 white hairs In each one. Those would still be female flowers right. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I grew and taught people to grow mushrooms for 20 years. Awesome hobby for sure! Bulk method, coir, WBS spawned. I wasn’t talking about misting the substrate or fruits though. I was talking about people who get Trich infections and mist them with hydrogen peroxide and spread spores all over their growspace.

Just a serious suggestion, that you do not try and spray pollen. They have a hydrophobic sheath that is repelled by water droplets. It’s called tryphine. One spray or a fan in the room will spread pollen, to varying degrees.Cheers!
