I believe the first step to an investigation is the accuser coming forward to present her story and take questions. If she does this, Kavanaugh will likely be pulled for another candidate and that is fine with me.
She's willing to come forward and they are negotiating how to do so. So your claim she's not is false.
Right now, it is just as you say, her word against Kavanaugh and there are plenty of other people who know something about this. Anita Hill was railroaded in the same manner. I can see why Ford is reluctant to follow her path. How about compelling the guy who was in the room to testify? How about the empowering the FBI to go out and talk with former classmates, especially people who were at that party? How about treating this accusation seriously instead of railroading her into a room with skeptical old men who have shown no interest in acting in the interests of the country, only their party? How about making this a search for the facts rather than keeping it at an unequal level of he-said-she-said.
Why the rush? Are you so afraid that Republicans will lose the Senate that you'd rather risk putting a man with compromised ethics on the SCOTUS?
Her story is much more believable given the fact that Kavanaugh has already lied five times under oath. She came out about this event years before at counseling sessions and with friends. Given the price she paid for coming out on this, I'm ready to say nah. Find somebody else. Since Republicans are soooooo enamored with the rich bastard, then they should mount a full investigation to ensure his name is really cleared and to prevent a cover-up.
Why are you in such a rush over this?
