vipars are blurple led lights. They will grow but you can have better results with a lot of other lights. LED or otherwise. And they all throw heat. Pretty much right on their wattage. But you can run a 315 in an air cooled hood and the heat goes away out your tent.

you could buy 2 of those lights and have way too much light and not have heat issues. I have no experience with other lighting except LEDs but they work great for small grows. I'm actually about to buy another one of these lights. They are the best bang for the buck IMO

Genetics will be your biggest ingredient for success with autos. This plant should finish with 4ozs at minimum. You will do better from a yield perspective setting up a scrog than growing autos. they are good for time limitations (which i'm in) but go an extra couple months with something heavy yielding and pull a pound. Super Lemon Haze is a great strain for this.

The response from lucky suggested vips. dont grow great bud but ok bud. I take this to be a firm stab at quality nit quantity and would remind you that here on this site GREAT bud has been grown under most nearly all lights including vips.

Now i expect the backlash but some dont realise just how much negative shite they seem to spread here. Set a challange for quality bud under vips. and i bet many come back at you with dense oozing dank buds. Same was said for t5s years back till many produced even frostier nugs than the pro hps'ers.

Point is led poster cant half hate every other light source but their slim spectrum of personally approved copy paste leds.

Those that hate me are generally the ones getting into arguments on grow info all over the site and have tet to learn anything past the mundane and boring, case in point is the discussion on wind..... fucking weak :-)
 
Allot of the problem.with blurples is heat management. They do.grow great weed.but its easier to grow great weed with better gear.

I.bet a 315cmh would.beat a mars 300 watt light.

Or 4 cobs. Would.beat it too.

But i think the first question is hoe much do you intend to grow with your light.

For personal at say 2 oz a month you need 8 oz a grow. A lot of cheap.lights can get there.

Heat management and airflow are important too

A 400.hps/mh with an air cooled hood is great for a budget too.

But if you want vips or mars check kijiji. Lots have upgraded to.led qb cobs etc
 
i've been really curious about COBs. just seems most are DIY and i'm not a DIY type and the ones that aren't are absurdly priced kinda like the crappy LEDs from 6 years ago that I still own and grows decent bud. My biggest problem is dumping the heated air. If i dump it back into my house during the summer time well its 100 degrees outside with a 70% humidity. My AC can only do so much this is why i went with LEDs. I have 4 of them a Mars Hydro, a G8, some shitty chinese one with no name (super hot), and the ViparSpectre 600 stays nice and cool. I wouldn't purchase anything else other than that Vipar because it seems to manage the heat well. and i'm likely gonna chunk the other 2. I'm a big believer in the the size of the Diodes. How well does the COB lights spread the light.
 
That doesn't show to much.

Im not saying vipers don't grow bud, a mate uses two of them (600w) in his 4 x 4 flower tent and one in his veg tent, well he did until recently. He is mid 50s and a daily smoker and has been growing on and off for a long, long time. He grows OK bud with the vipers.

They just don't have the power at only 275W draw. Its hard enough getting penetration and dense buds with only a 600w HPS.
Im not hating on vipers. they do what they do like any light does and I would of thought they would be more popular as veg lights TBH. I have heard of some using them to keep mothers under.

Honestly those Mars 300s are cheap enough that I’m just gonna give them a try, fuck it!

Also I went to my notes and using my 2 vipars on 4 northern lights auto plants yeilded me 9.8 ounces. That’s more than a gram a watt.

BUT I will admit one thing, my grows haven’t been as frosty as I’d like. So when my guys are approaching flower I will try the Mars.

Hah that's kinda funny. All the things I argue with you are over things you've said.

Wind does not exist under water and plants survive there.. so wind isn't needed was one of your arguments. Currents, tides and thermal vents exist under water and take on the role of wind. Around such areas holds the highest concentration of life, for obvious reasons. When I hinted at that you ran away and blamed everybody else for being ''mundane and boring''. How about you man up and start answering counter arguments to statements you make?.. rather than misleading newbies with your bs theory's and big words.. then playing the victim when you get called out.

Just for educational purpose. Actual wind also helps the oceans plants as it blows minerals into the sea. You should watch a documentary every now and then.

Plants exisiting under water is related to the fact that they can live in over 100% humidity environments and that relates directly to wind and my comments on boundary layer where it is not necessary for wind to be added for this principle to work and cool a leaf.

Just being able to tolerate 100% humidity isn't enough. Plants are immobile so something is needed to give them the nutrients they require.. be it other life or minerals washed in or blew in via currents/winds. A mechanic to replenish nutrients to the area is required.. no ifs or buts. That's why your comparison of under water life to indoor plants is flawed, irreversibly. Even to compare it to land based plants is flawed.

What is it, I lack comprehension or I am a troll, or both?. You have a lot of excuses. Stating that wind and currents helps bring nutrients to the ocean is ''broscience'' ;p.

If you talk specifically indoor that's one thing. It's your constant comparisons to out door life that makes you look like an idiot. Even indoor, we indirectly depend on wind since no wind > no echo system > no us, but I admit that's not a fair statement, just sounds good ;p.
