Has anybody ran cheap blurples next to a CMH? I know blurples get a lot of hate but for veg they they grow nice healthy plants for being so cheap. Any insight is appreciated!

Edit: The idea is to increase my veg footprint slightly without breaking the bank. A friend has 2x mars hydro 300w panels I can snag for $75.

What space are you trying to use? Each mars 300 has around 130 true watts. And yeah you could, but it just really depends on the area you are trying to illuminate. More info would definitely help.

Whatever you get cmh wise make sure the bulb is red heavy (like 3k/3kr) because those mars hydro and really blue heavy.

The original plan was the single 315 in a 3x3 but I was thinking of ways to increase my footprint on a cheap budget so I can keep a mother to start a perpetual. it just happens a good buddy has 2 perfect working mars panels that I can pickup for a great deal.

Not a great deal. Blurple watts generally = hps watts. Consider how much money and how much hps you could get, or, save your money and get some modern leds. They do work, can grow great bud, especially next to the light you have, but I don't think you'd be spending wisely. Free? F yeah, hop on that.

I mean, it depends on the run time the lights have on them, and their expected remaining life. They work decently for veg, but not really flower. If you are wanting to look for a cheap option call local grow shops for used equipment and pick up either a decent 315 cmh fixture, or a 400w mh for like 100-120 bucks with bulb ect. You'd get more space covered for moms and clones ect. But it's all in what you want and what you are willing to spend now vs on electric/other equipment and when.

When it comes down too it you can even use A19 led bulbs to do seedlings and move up. Even a 4 bulb t5 for veg is like $100 with your first bulbs. The 325cmh will flower a 3x3 great.

So like 4-6 x 9w 6500/5000 $4 each bulb seedlings/clones (2x4ish Space| $100 t5 4 ft fixture for veg | 315 cmh flower (3x3)

You'd have the -potential- to pull 12-16 oz every 2 months.

But whatever's clever
