massive LEGAL smoke OCT 17

I've been thinking about how we should approach 'Legalization Day'. I haven't heard of any rallies or anything planned - but the day should be recognized. Free joints at my house if anyone wants a road trip!
The one shitty thing about the day is our local dispensary will close the doors. They couldn't get a license...? They were over priced, but I liked trying different strains once in awhile and the owner was interesting to talk to. Gotta pick up another oz of afghani hash today before it's gone....good stuff!

I'm seeing it more as persecution day...it will be the day that everyone with a thinking brain will have an opinion
on my cannabis use.
the new reg's for cannabis have totally criminalized the substance 10 fold....
its is again just another day for those who use cannabis as medicine....since we have been long stigmatized and generally forced to hide it's use.
Lets just hope we can escape the bulk of the resultant new laws passed with respect to cannabis, and the endless interpretation of these laws by those who do not partake in cannabis at all.

Nah. I've never been shy about my use, but now I really don't care. It's all about educating - nicely at first, but get your point across. Different culture here though, but I still get looks and comments, particularly about smell. I explain it nice once and tell them to fuck off if they didn't hear me the first time.
I'm flying to Alberta for New Year's and I'm going to make sure I have exactly 150g and see if I am hassled for being over 30. I'll give my wife another 30g, and she don't smoke. One for me and 5 to 'share' with my brother-in-laws, 30g each for Christmas.. They are all going to help with my hydro costs as a Christmas present. Paid for our flights before we left! :bigjoint:

Practice with me what I say to people who don't like my cannabis use: make a fist and extend the middle-finger. Besides, I'm sure I've made greater contributions to Canadian society than they probably ever will...and that has opened many doors for me. I am well connected, to put it simply. So, yeah, they aren't excluding me, they are excluding themselves from what I have to offer and share.

A lot of the backlash we are seeing is from people who are scared of the 'unknown'. These people actually believe some of the intellectually-challenged politicians who are convinced that October 17th will unleash drug crazed zombies into their neighbourhoods. Somehow through 90 years of prohibition the most powerful cannabis culture in the world thrived. The idea that so many Canadians still believe the lies they were told in the 70's and 80's despite it's popularity is troubling. Next October will look very different from this one.

Just found this in the comment section of the Huffington Post" if anyone is close by and interested.

"Hello everybody, we are a nutrient company based out of Kelowna, B.C, Canada. We will be hosting a legalization event on the 17th! At our flagship store location on 1945 Kirschner Rd. There will be lots of great food, music, incredivle giveaways and and an appearance by the legendary Tommy Chong! We hope to see you all! Everybody 19+ is welcome there is no fee!"

Very high, yes...but not to the point where you're hallucinating. Remember, they believe stereotypes.
..

no one can say that.
We are all different
When you hear about people greening out..and or if you have ever been there yourself
I think you would have a different opinion. when it comes to eating it
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT and NO ONE can state they know how others will react to ingesting.
besides turning blue and green..thinking they are dying and talking to people who re not there.... lol
ODing rightly sucks but at least you WONT DIE!

I've been at the paranoid 'green out' stage a few times early in my toking life. It wasn't fun - not quite as bad as the feeling I got from acid, but close. Now I could smoke a pound and function. I think we'll see a lot of newbies going to the hospital in the first few months until they figure out that they won't die. The problem is intentional ignorance has led hospital staff to treat this as a medical emergency, rather than simply being temporary incapacitated similar to being drunk - but of a much shorter duration. Give the patient a bed to lie down on and some munchies and they're good to go in an hour.

You missed my point. The media essentially characterizes cannabis as being like LSD, if you will, but more dangerous. You and I both know one can't die from ingesting cannabis. One might feel like shit if one surpasses their tolerance level, but one will be better off than if one had been drunk.
