Sign of flowering or trouble?

Second grow of autoflower from growers choice seeds. This is a gorrila glue in ocean forest, 5 gallon smart pots, 20 hr led lighting, ph at around 6.3-6.5, foxfarm trio at half dose every other watering, with temps in the low 80s. Question, I have yet to have a successful harvest. These plants are about 6 weeks old. Are these preflowers or a deficiency? They just look weak to me. Or is this an awesome plant and I'm just an impatient newbie?

Looks like Preflowers to me.

I might give it a bit less fert than 50%. Maybe 20% 30%, and feed every watering. They might look a bit ( Not Much ) Overfertilized , as the tips, and serrated tips are a bit burned.

Its also hard to diagnose things, as Im sure you know, some things can mimic others.

Hows your watering schedule?? Theyre NOT Overwatered??? They should go at least 3 days before needing water, and no more than 4. If they go more than 4 days theyre to wet.
Not saying yours are doing any of this. Just something to think about. Other than that it looks pretty good.
Also consider I have 0 experience growing Autos, and am not familiar ( Havent used ) your fertilizer, but have been growing since 72.

Thanks you for the input. I usually water every 3 days. I might hold back and let this watering completely dry out. I always find it hard to tell if the soil is just cold or still moist when itouch it. I'll also try the 1/3rd feeding every watering. Thanks again

I'm interested in what you think of the plants. Something wrong or just preflower? I'd like to fix the problem if there is one before it's too late

Id also get a cheap $15 Moisture Meter at Lowes, or wherever. Never let them Droop.

Don't let the needle get to Low Moist. Always keep a hair above.

If you let them completely dry out, ( DROOP ) and then water again, you risk nutrient burn. If the medium drys out to much, it will concentrate the salts, and then when you water it releases the concentrated salts, burning the plants. You also risk Leaf Drop.
Then, if you feed at the same time, its double trouble.
Ive been growing since 72, and for me, the Moisture Meter takes out all guesswork, and may be the best $15 Ive spent.
Always start low on the fert, and slowly adjust up, to a certain point.

They are preflowers.
I haven't grown auto's.
I'm guessing that once preflowers appear on an auto flowering begins right away.
The lower leaves look really good, the tops seem a bit thin or spindly to me but overall they look good.

Seems like you are using the nutes to often and probably fed them to soon.

When I grow in 5 gallons of ffof I probably would have only given them water up to the stage you are at.
5 gallons of ffof with small plants can go water only for 6 or more weeks before needing to be fed.

What happened last time that you didn't make it to harvest?
Any info on what went wrong?
