Blueberry 5 weeks into flower

I actually haven't been PH'ing my water. I only had access to a shitty 3-1 thing that checks pH/light/wetness from Home Depot, and I questioned it's accuracy right off the get go. I tried a couple times to get my tap water to 6.5 using that device and when I fed the plants with the PH'd water it almost seemed to get worse?

Well fast forward until now, 60 days into flower .. and I have upped my nutes from 5-10 to 8-16 .. and I never noticed the browning getting any worse until later on into flower. I actually posted a picture in the plant trouble forums, and they said it looked like a cal def. I have since ordered cal-mag, and have been feeding every couple of waterings with this in the formula and it hasn't exactly cured it but the browning is less for sure. I didn't want to up my cal-mag feeding much more then it was, to see if it would completely cure it or not just in case.

My plant seems to be thriving regardless though, and I just look at the brown spots as life experience haha. I could never completely cure it, and have been told that blueberries can be finicky as fuck when it comes to this subject. I question sometimes, had I completely cured the browning would my grow be going better? But at this point, I just deal with it lol.

I just smoked a few bubblers, so I hope I didn't fuck up to bad and that this can be of some help to you. I'm sure many more experienced guys could help you more then I though.

You followed your first grow well and it definitely shows with the results too. Those chopped pics look fantastic man! Cant wait to see how much you get. Just hope the potency lives up with it being an auto..

After a slight bug problem early on in veg my blueberries were healthy all throughout veg (i flipped them at day 63). Had some minor yellowing fan leaves at the bottoms of both but it didnt get crazy until i switched over to dry nutes. On day 84 I fed all my plants except one and three days later every one of them had brown tips everywhere except the one i didnt feed. So it seemed to me it was related to switchover to dry bloom nutes.
So i decided to flush one of the blueberries and water straight for next couple feeds before reapproaching with 1/4 strength. A week later the saw toothed margins on all the new growth were now browning on both blues but not on any of my other strains. One of the two blues had more leaves affected. I mean this garbage was running up amd down the full leaf edges. In any case i flushed again and to make long stoned telling story shorter.. aside from some die off of the worst browing leaves ..im now at day 111 (47 flower) and while the older yellowing fan leaves are doing their normal die off theres still a lot of healthy green and she should finish up nicely.. and i wouldnt be surprised if she ends up the biggest yielder even if ive had to trim down the nutrients just due to the sheer size of the plant. If someone gets a fem seed veg these babies early and train. I had to do some tying down to keep her at 4'. Big overall indoor plant.

Next time id hit this strain with dry maxigrow quarter strength from start and just roll it straight thru into dry bloom nutes and see if it falls apart again. Otherwise i managed to keep it healthy for three months! The problem has stopped and she will be finishing up shortly. Ill update some pics later.

that main cola was a fatty, hope you avoid the dreaded mold in the center of it

You also didnt mention light size, im guessing 600? 24 hours a day?

if your any impatient as me, youve always got the next round or two running in veg!

Main cola was a chunky bastard for sure. didn't dive into the middle of it yet, but at this point i never even considered mold, but i will be sure to check it out once it's dried. I kept my RH throughout flower between 40-45, and temp at about 28 DegC 95% of the time, would mold still be a concern?

The lamp was 400 watt. I vegged her and a BD with 6 CFLs. I didn't have my MH in time to veg with it. I ended up losing my BD though, it grew too tall .. tried to train it and i damaged her beyond repair. I vegged @ 18/6 for 5 weeks, and switched 12/12 and flowered for 8.5 weeks from first sign of flower or 10 weeks from flip.

Just got a couple more seeds ready for germ last night lol.

RH in tent while drying is at about 50%, and Temps are around 20-23 deg C. Will this suffice?

One small bud after a small dry and bottle for a day. Still damp, but still smoked half decent.

Good clear headed stone, feel it more in the body and makes you very happy.

Burns very white. I don't know this is an indication of properly grown weed or not lol.

Ps: don't judge me on the half pink bong. Wife needed a say in colour to! Haha

Shit, it's been a while since I seen this thread. That was my very first grow, I had planted that one ( blueberry) and a blue dream. Weird that you ask about lst, because I did none at all and they stretched way too much after flip .. tried training during flower and ruined the blue dream. Lol .. I was left with just that one plant.

I can't quite remember final dry weight but I think it was roughly 3.5 oz. Good learning experience if nothing else.

Getting more confident with each grow for sure. Here's my current bunch .. 1st time growing a scrog. Had a few issues, but they're coming around.

Ayeee I like that! I’ll prob try scrog next grow. This first one will take a lot of the errors for me. Learning day by day

Currently on my first grow. Monday was it’s second full week. I’ll prob do LST and maybe HST. Next I’ll do those 2 and scrog. Do you have a thread on your grow? I’ll follow it to see how it goes

Good to hear @TreeFiddy350. You will find that sweet spot, and get everything dialled in in no time. What strain are you growing out? Multiple plants? Tent grow ?

Yeah man, just learn as you go .. there is a wealth of knowledge and information on these forums and most seem very willing to lend a helping hand. I would suggest LST, and if your comfortable enough it wouldn't hurt to top them. Keeping training and tying down shoots to prevent too much vertical growth ( esp during the first few weeks of 12/12). Easy to under estimate the growth spurt during this time. Most seem to double in size.

If your growing with synth nutrients, start low and increase when your plant needs it. Keep your pH in check, good air movement along with temps/RH and I think you'll have a pretty trouble free grow.

I haven't started a thread for this grow, but I will start one later tonight. Do you have a thread for yours?

No, I haven’t started a thread on mine yet. Yeah I have a 4x4x 6.5 grow tent with 4 plants in it. I have 2x of Gorilla Zkittlez, 1x Blue Gelato 41, and 1x Purple Queen. So right now the mh is at 750w. I tried going to 1000, but it gets the temps too hot in there (85-90). Still trying to figure out what to do about that without getting an AC. Just checked my ppm and that’s sitting at around 70-80 with PH corrected at around 6.3. I think starting on Monday (3weeks old) I’ll start adding nutes. I think from what I’m understanding about nutes is that the lower my ppms are coming from sink, the note nutes I should be able to add without burning them.

I'm running the same size tent myself, and I could see it being difficult to keep the 1000w setting on, without dealing with extreme temps. I use a 630w cmh, and during the summer months i also struggled with high heat. It kept my humidity levels down while the light was on, but I also ran into high lights off RH. Environment is the toughest part to get right without AC and de/humidifier units imo. Only suggestion I can offer in that department, without AC is run your exhaust fan at a higher cfm, and exhaust the hot tent air into another room allowing you to bring in cooler air into the tent. Either that, or a cool tube for your lamp if you plan on using 1000w.

Your right about the PPM. The lower ppm your tap water is, the more nutrients you can add to your water/res to achieve your desired PPM for your plants. This is the reason many use RO water, as it has a very low ppm to start with so you know your starting point, and exactly the PPM of nutrients in your final mix.

Early veg I would aim for 300-400 ppm
Full veg - 450-700 ppm

These numbers will increase as you enter the bloom stage.

Some strains are heavier feeders, so keep that in mind that one mix for one plant might not work for every plant but if you start low and increase when needed you should avoid any burn. When you start mixing your nutes, aim to keep your pH around 5.8-6.0 .. Certain nutrients become more available at different pH's and keeping in this range should prevent much trouble. Mix your nutrients, then adjust pH if needed.

Your certainly going in the right direction! keep it up and you'll have some great smoke come harvest time. Nice strains by the way, look forward to some pictures.
