I have a 4x4x6 tent currently with two 600w mars hydro eco 98 (384 actual watts) over two plants. I have two HLG 260 V2’s on the way (270-570 actual watts), I will mostly be doing autos 4 at a time either 18/6, 20/4 or 24/0. I have no experience whatsoever with these lights and and wondering what light distances to use during seedlings/veg/flower, dimming, and if there’s any tips I should know or things to watch out for. Growing RDWC with constant c02. Any feedback is much appreciated thanks!

Do I have enough height for these lights? Would strips be a better option for my tent? I’m not very handy and the hlg 260 are pre assembled so it makes it easier for me

A couple of the 260's will give you enough light. The only thing I would change would be to use the xl instead. That should give you better uniformity over the space. I routinely run my fixtures @12" during flower.

Thanks for the reply! So it’s similar to the cheaper LED distances about 24” for seedling and sprouts and 18-24 for veg and 12-18 for flower? Unfortunately I already have just the regular 260s on the way. Any advice for dimming or should I just leave it how it comes? There is a harbor freight nearby and I can get a kill a watt for more accurate watt control. Also wondering about uv and ir supplementation, is it necessary/ how beneficial is it

Supplementation is not necessary, no. The majority of us using boards/strips/COBs do not supplement. As for how beneficial? IR would be beneficial if you're growing in a cool environment, but as long as you can keep your space's ambient temps above 80°F, you'll be fine. As for UV - there are studies which show that - used properly - UV can increase THC. That said, most of us are more than content with the potency of our bud grown without UV supplementation. My bud seems as strong to me as any top-shelf I've purchased.

As close as you can get them, but uniform in intensity. A light meter is recommended, otherwise you’re just guessing.

A par meter would be best, but a budget flux meter works fine like mine. Check the link below for some suggestions what people are running for power /ppfd/flux

Using the meter you can test for uniform light across your canopy, then adjust power.

I just went thru this, lots of folks helped...some more info here

Gl and great choice on lights

Look up LED Gardener on YouTube, and you'll find a step-by-step walkthrough on putting the kit together. It's really very, very easy. Don't be intimidated!

Yes I just found their videos thanks! At first my computer was messing up and those vids wouldn’t pop up/play. Those vids sure helped bring the intimidation factor down though. Is it necessary to solder tin the wires? I think that’s the most diffulooking part haha

Just received my kits and wanna double check my wiring. On my driver I have
Green/yellow
ACL (brown)
ACN (blue)
I’ve connected ACL (brown) to black, ACN (blue) to white and green/yellow to green from my driver to my power cord. Sound about right?

Awesome they were extremely easy to put together and love them already. Waiting for my lux meter still. have them both at 195 watts and about 23 inches away from top of plant. just started flowering1CD99058-FF5A-49F7-BE3A-03474723B83E.jpeg on my forum stomper plant I just noticed it’s started to turn light green and drooping. Could that be from shock from the lighting difference of the old light or is it too much and bleaching/stressing it?C6C02408-C4B7-49EB-8D00-7054364BCC63.jpeg

I had similar issues. I believe it is related to the difference between the LED and HID lighting. In my case, hitting them with Epsom salt (magnesium sulfide) did the trick. Back to shiny green.
