We are triaging for rot. Cutting out where it show up and cleaning with hydrogen peroxide. But nothing that is wholly taking over sections. But it's been a week since we last inspected the buds.

Hey all,
Back from a 10 day/ 1000 mile road trip thru Maine, Hiking camping and smokin my way thru an awesome fall. Could't even hold the camera straight here, kelp everywhere.
The plants are coming along, this will be a couple more weeks weather permitting.
Some are a bit more along, but time and temp are closing in on me fast.
Lost 6-8 nice tops to rot while I was gone and almost pulled out, but I'm in till hard frost now.

More so thinking if you ever considered fully sealing come fall and running dehumidifier and exaust fans to stop this rot. All my plants are getting it now some are close to being done others are not. Some worse some better.

From what I've seen, the bud rot under the hoop house is where the condensation drips form in the morning after this ceaseless humidity.
Those are the spots that get no direct sun or enough circulation to dry quickly or thoroughly, so blowing more air upward thru the canopy might be more efficient than fully sealing a greenhouse and treating the air.
Just had 2- small 11" Honeywell oscillating fans under it this season. Did a good job, just not enough circulation in the morning and days when they really needed it for every little crevice.
Bigger and more oscillating fans hooked up on a Sonoff Temp/Humidity switch for the lower canopy or 2 big box fans on Hi for short cycles is what I'm looking at.
Maybe set up a gale force fan for a morning/humidity spike on High (to shake em off), then run others on cycling alternating duty for 24/7. Those Sonoff switches are looking good, really cheap and versatile.

its 20 x 30 14 at the peak I ran 12 this yr it was packed,to packed!! next yr iam running 3 down the center and scroging try to keep the tops below side walls witch is 8 ft and open.i ran 4 24 in fans 24-7 really didn't help with the rot this yr way to much water in the air we had 80-90 percent rh most of aug an sept an very little sun. heavy loss to rot with every grower I know this yr.it should help to keep price stable for flowers

Yea, it's rough. I just trashed another plant, the peroxide burn first aid showed how bad it was. It really needs that daily TLC, and a week and a half gone was too long. It looks worse with all day to look for it.
Pulled the second Panama, and the better 1/3 of another plant this morning.
Got 7 gallons of trim for oil, maybe 3 qts of buds, 90 percent loss cause I am overly picky for smoking buds.

Ok so any thoughts on chopping a plant before the temp hits a low of 37 next week? My Sativas are around week 9-10 and mid-week has a 37 degree low. Most of the rest of the 10-day is in the 40's for lows.

Had an ak47 survive light frost last year... a hour of 31,32 degrees last year without issue for a few days... turned crazy purple and orange but no I'll effects.

theres going to be lots of oil around soon with the season we had, I grow for flowers no market for any thing else at least for me

Consider doing some of both.
You don't have to take every plant, or even every piece of every plant. Maybe take some buds from each plant, leaving some to go longer. Keep the harvested bud identified by date etc. and separate from any bud you harvest later. You might gain some information for future reference, concerning harvest timing, potency etc.
The remaining unharvested will tell you how cold tolerant those strains are etc. Of course if the temp gets too low, you'll wish you'd harvested all of it. Either way good luck.

I'm curious, how your Lemon Skunk did as far as mold and finish ? It's on my list of possibles to sling some Iranian pollen at over the winter.

Got a couple Getaway's Downeast Skunk indoors, very lemony and getting oily now. These are Week 7 today.
This and the R2 Poison (rotted early too, flipped early) earlier this year were so photo sensitive, they flipped with pistils in less than 48 hrs after changing over. Remarkable how fast that happened, and how that limited stretch later.
The problem is outdoors, we can't make it past this humidity gap before the plant swells up and seals itself off with that nice lemon oil

I also had a Lemon Skunk outside this year. It was the last to flower, very late and was slow in veg too, and last to harvest this year. Cut it down just a couple days ago - zero signs of mold and about 6’ tall. Looking forward to trying it but I do think I had a slow grower (from seed).

We are at this point chopping out molded sections as they appear. Freezing sections that aren't rotted for ice hash. Thanks for all the feedback, we're going to keep these ladies going as long as they can. And salvage rotted areas as they come.

Thanks for the update on the Lemon Skunk. My best (no mold or very low mold) resistant plants were from early flowering crosses that finished from mid August to early Sept. In the ground, in the bush. Small to medium sized (2 - 8 ounces) was the tradeoff for the early finish. But...it adds up. More than one way to skin a cat.
We had lots of botrytis in the greenhouse too. Container plants. Got some Green crack in, before the meltdown, but by mid September on most of the "big" plants conspired to see which could get the moldiest. Some were near totaled. Burn pile will be big this winter.
Had one plant "volunteer" from the back of last years composting dirt pile. It stayed hidden by tall weeds and sunflowers until I noticed it a couple weeks ago. That fucker got nearly 6 feet tall, with hardly any mold. Never watered it. Cut it a couple days ago, probably a little too early, maybe I'll get lucky and it will be one of those racy high types. Pretty funny, I think the universe was teaching me a lesson.
