Look guys serious question here, no need for smart a$$ replies lol.

I germed seeds mid july 19th actually they are all in 3 gallon smart pots which i serverly stunted due to using crappy cheap soil + over watering.

So these are close to 3 months old but def dont show it in size.

The 4 biggest plants obviously.

I have topped each one once and lollipopped each one taking off 1-3 nodes.

Used all for clones hope they survive.

Anyways so its almost been 3 months in smart pots the roots are hitting the bottom of each one.

Would it be ok to flower in these smart pots or should i transplant to bigger smart pot?

If i do flower now at this size could i atleast get 1/2 to an ounce per plant?

I have never successfully grew cannabis before but tried in the past and failed.

Your plants look good. Good job so far. You can flower in those. I don't guess seriously on yields.

Small, but looking good, except for that small one (toss it).

Since you're a new grower, next time use a "pro mix" potting soil.
When your canopy is as large(wide) as the pot, transplant to a (considerably) larger pot.

Good luck

Thanks mate so do you think these have been in the 3 gal pots to long?
Try to never veg in smart pots, they can be a nightmare to replant because of root strands growing into the side of the pot,
Never allow your plants to get root bound and always replant into a larger container for flower then you veg in,
As it stands right now you will damage the root system because of the fabric pots if you try to replant them ,
It's all a learning experience ,
Mix garden lime ( from your local garden store cheap) and lots of perlite in your soil, for you about 50 /50 , this will drain the water off the soil and keep newbies from over watering, use Lucas formula ( you can look it up on line) micro , and bloom general hydroponics , the feeding schedule is like this ,
5 micro, 10 ml a gallon bloomin veg,
First week bloom , 6/12, second 7/14 , third week 8/16 , last two weeks flush with straight pH ballenced water,
Just keep it very simple,
Lucas formula as long as you are using good pH ballenced water will self pH itself , alternate your water and feeding schedule every other time,
Because the perlite will be heavy in your mix you will water more frequently , maybe every other day , but you will not be able to over water.
Good luck and I hope this helps

General rule of thumb:

When the plant in veg is just under half the height limit of the grow area.
The height limit is from 18" under the light to the floor.

OR

The plant is just under half of the desired "finished" height at harvest.

Question (its related so am adding here):
Is node spacing ever a consideration in determining a good time to flower?

Am growing from clones and they are a bit lanky. As a result, I think its seriously affecting bud production.

I have since increased the lumens in my veg area. Will that improve node spacing with tighter nodes? Does node spacing actually matter before flowering?

The answer is not that simple , you can start the bloom cycle any time you want to , even at a week old, as a matter of fact the sooner the better, it is always best to start blooming when the plant has plenty of root space for the plant to stretch and grow the roots, the plant will not produce anywhere near as much if it is root bound and no expa suon room for the roots,
It is good to have plenty of light in veg that the plant needs and will not stretch trying to get light, nodal space is what packs your buds close together making long colas ,
Many answers to many of your questions can be found on Dr tombs grow journal , I have explained much about growing to Dr tomb .
Almost all of this is very simple and just requires a little common sense ,
Much of what you will read on here will be wrong , misleading or coming from uninformed growers directing you in the wrong direction.
Two major thing when growing indoor determines production, although to be extremely productive everything should work together to come together in what could be described as a perfect ZEN.
Those two major things are root mass that can be developed and light.
Even a small plant put into a five gallon container can sense there is expansion room for root growth, so a long veg period especially indoor is not needed, the space for the roots will be taken up rather rapidly, a 1000 watt bulb can reach into the canopy 3 ft deep if you allow it.
, There is really no reason to grow a plant much over 4 ft tall as the light will not effectively reach that far into the plant.
I could go on forever writing and talking about marijuana and most of this is stuff I've already covered ,
I wish I could say good growers are crawling roll it up, but they are not, I wish I could say there are great growers in this industry all over the place, but there is not.
Mostly what you have are bull shitters and the blind leading the blind .
There are very few who see with clarity what is going on,
But there are some , 2 pics 045.JPG
