Hi, i'v started making some good rso full concentrate non purged oil (4th time) and are wondering if i will die dabbing it or will i be ok ?

I'v heard there's wax residue left from the alcohol which i can't find any info on.

Btw i'v dabbed lots so it's just a wonder as it would be too late :/

How are you extracting?
I'd be more worried about isopropyl alcohol residue than waxes if you are using iso.
i use iso alcohol off ebay, see it gets me wasted and i love the taste, i'm thinking like cooking with wine the alcohol just disappears but i'v just started making it so i dunno much, it's a nice smoke rubbed on papers or just dabbed.

i'm not seeing people do it much, but those i do say they love it and don't get why more aren't dabbing the black like us.

RSO can be dabbed, though a little harsh. How are you purging the alcohol?
i don't purge it, is when you leave it on heat for 4hrs ? (don't know what or why to purge)

i just evaporate it in a slow cooker until it won't flame on a piece of metal so i know the alchols gone.

It's tasty shit and not too harsh

ISO is a FDA class three solvent, with the following residual FDA standards:

Solvents in Class 3 (Table 3) may be regarded as less toxic and of lower risk to human health. Class 3 includes no solvent known as a human health hazard at levels normally accepted in pharmaceuticals. However, there are no long-term toxicity or carcinogenicity studies for many of the solvents in Class 3. Available data indicate that they are less toxic in acute or short-term studies and negative in genotoxicity studies. It is considered that amounts of these residual solvents of 50 mg per day or less (corresponding to 5,000 ppm or 0.5 percent under Option 1) would be acceptable without justification. Higher amounts may also be acceptable provided they are realistic in relation to manufacturing capability and good manufacturing practice (GMP).

my mind is blown if i think this is what it means .... so iso is cool to use ?

Personally I dont think isopropyl is safe to use unless you use a vacuum and even then you have to be careful. Fadedawg is correct that if you purge to below FDA standards you are safe. The challenge is that there is no way that a home extractor could determine the concentration of isopropyl alcohol.

You would also need to consider that most of the research on isopropyl alcohol focuses on inhalation from an occupational exposure perspective and not direct concentrated inhalation. Isopropyl alcohol is metabolized by the body to acetone and then to acetic and formic acid (if my memory is correct). Acetone is a nervous system depressant.

It is very difficult to remove solvent from an oil using heat alone. Excess heating also runs the risk of degredation of your THC and CBD.

My recommendation is to spend the extra money and purchase an oil vacuum pump. Robinair makes good quality pumps that hold up well as long as you regularly change the oil. If money is tight you can use a water faucet aspirator.

If you go down this path, the best way to blast is directly into round bottom flasks. I use a 500mL 24/40 1 neck round bottom (cheap on aliexpress). That way you can connect directly to the pump using a vacuum/inlet 24/40 gas adapter. Going this route is significantly less expensive (and better performance) than using a vacuum chamber.

My next run I plan on documenting my extraction with photographs.

I have the Robinair 15510 VacuMaster Single Stage Vacuum Pump. The pump above is definitely a step up in terms of vacuum ability. A better pump is required when using a vacuum chamber as you do get a greater loss of vacuum because there is more places for the air to escape.

That being said the system will do a good job and keep you safe.

My preference for chemical glassware is due to my years as a research chemist. I admit I have a bias as I spent 15 years of my life using it. :)

Tasty shit made with some purple stardawg.

My mates testing some on his epileptic dog (no epilepic dog memes please it is sad, u will be sad)

Love making it, specially last 5mins when it starts to get black n sticky.

I got some 'moon papers' off someone free, rolling papers had some rosin dry siff or something rubbed on it, was nice but £25 for 2 was alittle steep, like my wifes phone bill :/ dont ask.
