Hello all first time growing look at my progress

I have 4 plants at first I had issues with fungus gnats root aphids but I got that All cleared up. I used diatomaceous earth and neem oil which worked wonders and killed all my pest problems. It was my first time growing so I didn’t know what to expect. I did extensive research and I’m doing my best in keeping my 4 girls happy.

Strains : purple Cadillac, strawberry banana , sunset sherbet , chocolate hash berry

I’m in my 3rd week of flower and they’re all frosting up very nice. I feed nutes every feeding and with carbs and sometimes with plant probiotics to keep my soil alive and happy.

I’m running 2 x 300w led lights both different brands a 6inch exhaust fan with a carbon filter for the smell.

Let me know how these flowers look I can take some more photos later. And it sucks I can’t upload the video I have.

Just saw some gnats myself and ordered diatomaceous earth. It will be here tomorrow, thank goodness. But just curious, why nutes at every feeding?

You can’t see how they look because your light hides their true appearance. Post with it off and you’ll get more opinions. Best of luck :)

To reply to myself and anyone that didn't already know this - I just ordered Neem oil. Fuck that DE shit. It's finer than powered sugar and blew all over my plants leaves and won't come off. That shit went ever where and I was super careful with it. Maybe you're supposed to mix it in your soil early and not when your plant is 8" tall.

For fungus gnats get mosquito bits. They're more like chunks or Pebbles they won't blow all over your room neem oil works well above the soil I haven't really used it as a soil drench so I don't know how well it works for soil bugs. Another thing you can do is put a layer of sand on the top of your medium. This will prevent them from going in and out of the medium.

Nice. I've actually got some sand. I may do both since I already ordered the neem oil. Spray the soil really well then cover it in sand. I don't seem to have really any pest problems or anything else, and there are only 2-3 gnats I see at any given time, but they are around 24/7 and it's annoying.

Take care of it now that there is only a few. The larva will munch on your roots. Yes do both, neem and sand. :clap::bigjoint:

Because I want the absolute most Frost but I do also feed like half a gallon of just ph’d water on top of my nute feed I feel like it balances out

Yea neem is great when your in veg as a foiler spray but in flower you want to drench the roots with a little bit but don’t over do it. I personally only used neem as a soil drench like twice. DE IS MESSY ASF I agree lol I also recommend to get some yellow sticky traps and clay balls (hydroton) to put on top of the soil so it makes it harder for the adults flying fuckers to get access to your soil . You basically want to control them .

I would but that would stress my plants I don’t do nothing when they’re sleeping any light will stress them when they’re on 12 off. I have nothing to prove to anyone it’s my first time growing and plus I’m loving my results.

Looking good, bro. That’s what I use, Neem and DE. Never had a problem. Just be careful not to inhale it, that shit can get into your lungs if you aren’t careful. It’s not too big of a risk as long as you aren’t doing rails of it or throwing around, but it’s a risk. I top dress with DE. Never had a problem with it getting on my leaves, save a few on the bottom.

Yup I know I usually use a mask or like a t shirt around my face but I only top dress for a little while while it controls the population. Neem works the best imo no pest likes the taste and it alters the pest sexes so that they can’t reproduce.

I thought you wanted opinions on how your plants look. I also used lights like that when I first started, it was members , and a post by the staff suggesting not to post pictures with the lights on. That’s great you’re loving your results too. :)
