Help on led light

Hi everyone
I bought s cheap 600w led panel for my veg tent.
Looking at it tho I think it's the wrong spectrum of light way to red.
I was going to use a 600w eurolux hps for my flower tent and it says it's good for flowering but that seems two blue/ walm white.
Should I switch them round or rethink what I'm using ???
Thanks

All of those blurples are the same color unless they’re capable of switching between veg and bloom. Either way those things blow. As for the 600 watt what spectrum is it 3,4,5 or whatever k?

No led panel is not switchable so think I will have to rethink that. I can't find much info in these bulbs was given by a friend there duel spectrum but online it says there mainly foe flowering so think they will be fine just need to rethink my veg tent and what light to use
Thanks

Go HPS. I no longer veg under MH. Whole grow HPS. They can stretched more but topping and supercropping keep it good.

I am doing my first grow with LEDs, and I love them so far.
Ok, there's a free app called Color Analyzer.
Turn on the light, let it shine on a plain piece of paper from about 24". Take a photo of it.
Open color analyzer, choose the photo, and BAM!! No, it's not a true spectrum analyzer, but I'm poor. It will tell you the percentage of blue, red, etc. In the photo.

Yeah, my cheap Chinese blurples run a bit to the blue. For flowering, I hung red blankets as side panels.
I can't change the spectrum of the lights themselves, but it does change the spectrum of the reflected light.
Sorry for the shitty pics, I don't have white light in there.
The first is OG Cheese, 2-3 weeks into flowering. Second pic is overview. Plant in the middle with three primaries is Dream Cookies hybrid. Both from seeds that came from dispensary weed.IMG_20181020_190041.jpg IMG_20181020_190021.jpg

Hi thanks for the advice

Iv switched to hps bulb bit worried its to yellow as it's a flower bulb. will use that for the rest Of this grow. Next time I will use 5t in a cabinet to get them ready
But this is my first grow and you have to learn.
So this is how tent looks now still need to add some small desk fans
Only big issue I'm having it my humity is low like 35 to 40.
IV got exhaust fan and inline fan into the tent plus at this stage i keep tent open most of the time to help vent as it get very hot and dry. Iv tried to spray down the tent and leave a bowl of water but nothing is working I think it's showing in my plants they look to dark
Any ideas ?? Other than spending alot on a humidifier that I can't see working either

3 x white rihno female3 sprouted so far
3x of kush female 2 sprouted so far
3x G13 haze reg 1 sprouted so far

Thanks

I live in Alaska . No commercial growers use MH . HPS or CMH mostly. A couple of LED hydro growers. But not cheap Chinese LEDs. Embrace your low humidity. A cheap humidifer is a good accessory. However it raises temps. The cool mist are less efficient than the heat type.

In the Mojave desert, I am using a 2000cu. Ft. Per hour evaporative cooler to cool and humidify my grow room which is effectively 11'x11'x9' high.
Any given day it can cool that space by 20-25°f, but I wired it on a simple thermostat to keep the room temps at 76-80°f. The way to get this amount of cooling is to move the air. The room is built so the walls themselves act as vents with no light leaks.
RH runs 40-50% with the cooler on. RH with the cooler off is 20%.
That's what I am using. So far it works. Lol. Oh, and in that space is also my clone area.
This type of setup WILL NOT WORK IN REGIONS WITH MID TO HIGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY.
Again, the key is, and maybe for most, air movement. I'm moving +1500 cu.ft.hr with the plants shielded from direct air current. I hope this helps and offers some ideas for you. I am not a pro grower either.

I'd suggest trying several different combinations, and see what works best for you.

I have 4 300 (140) w LED units.
  • 100 3w LEDs (generic, w/focusing lenses, first one I bought, too much red, but I think 9-bands)
  • 60 5w LEDs (generic, w/focusing lenses, more blue, predominately red)(I had counted them, but the spreadsheet got corrupted and I'm not going to recount)
  • Viparspectra V300 which has 50.2% blue light (lots of blue) and 12 bands with focusing lenses and mini reflective cups (also most expensive unit of my list). When I run this light with the 100 3w unit, I get about 30% blue light, same percentage as natural sunlight.
  • Hybergrow SMD all diodes are the same color, whitish with a reddish tinge, no focusing lenses, about 180 degrees of light. I haven't used this light before this upcoming bloom, but a friend borrowed it and said his plants did well under it.

What seems to work well is the 60 5w LED as the single light in the vegetative area, and I'm really happy with it for that purpose. It's much like the 100 3w unit, but besides the fewer diodes, I can see there's a little more reflected blue light. With it I grew these healthy plants 24/0 for several months, although the photo illumination is fluorescent:

veg room and soil test 9.18.2018.jpg

In the bloom tent I now have three, but last bloom I used a combination of two units which results in 30% blue light. By combining dissimilar units together in the tent, I have more total bands than any of the lights individually have. I think of this as a fuller frequency. Plus I get the benefit of more light during bloom than vegetative. I just put a third one in the tent, will use it this next bloom, the SMD unit without focusing lenses. That will increase the total light, and assuming all three are used at once, decrease the relative percent of blue to about 23%.

So far I'm happy with them. Many years ago I grew one crop under a 1000w MH and bloomed by adding a 400 HPS. It was awesome, and so was the power bill. I still have that light, the ballast is huge, larger than a briefcase, I think it's just a huge transformer, although I've never disassembled it. I used it one time, and decided it was too costly a light to use. Over six hundred bucks to run decades ago before some electricity cost increases. It would probably cost a couple thousand a month to run today. But it grew great weed!

Seedlings that size I always mist a couple times a day, and never dump water on them
Also hang your lights at 32" to 34" above the seedlings, no closer than that
I've been in the same boat as you before
