I'm planting seeds of every strain I have this season. Including every freebie seed I've gotten from attitude plus the crapload of strains I've gotten from breeders overseas and coco . my mates plants are already 4 foot tall I think I started a bit late this season but I'm not growing in pots apart from the autos. Looks like its going to be a long hot dry season

How do I no what lower downs to take off if the botem most heat has grown up and is the same night as rest of canopy then do I leave that but take the lower down side branching or just the leaves that aren’t getting enough light and improve airflow

lots of different opinions on that mate. you really need to figure out what you want to do there for yourself.

in my opinion indoor under lights you want to promote the top growth so any lowers come off. if you want more tops you tip the upper growth. gives you stronger more even growth between branches. i also like to leave all of my lower leaves which i know a lot of other people disagree with.

there really is no 100% best answer for this and often just ends in a massive argument like defol is better, no lollipopping is better, no mainlining is better lol.

I think it’s starting to stretch now might just leave it for now may do a bit of Defoe at the bottom but I’ll mostly leave the plant alone if I can

Next batch of girls to be flowered waiting for room under a screen in the flower cupboard. Slight veregation in the larger leaves from a slight lack of mag and purplish in the stems (probs phos), guessing both are due to low temps (normal I’d have a heat mat in their running on my temp controller but it died on my and cbf replacing it over summer) Sitting under 20w of bridgelux strips for about 2ish weeks since transplanting out of the cloner.




Currently my favourite veg plant. The root mass on this strain is stupid compared to my others.

On ph meters i say fuck bluelab. Overpriced garbage in my opinion.
I got sick of having the calibration on them go all fuckey and they wouldnt calibrate correctly.
Happened 3 times to me in a very short period so i switched to the el cheapo ph meters. Never been happier.
Keep the probe clean with a toothbrush. Store the probe in clean tap water and calibrate regularly.

I also have 3 on hand at any time. 1 is my daily driver. Another calibrated one which i use once weekly to see if the calibration has drifted on the daily driver and a third in case one of ghe other 2 dies. Still miles cheaper than a bluelab

I have a blue lab as my back up. Have never opened the box. My daily meter is HM PH-80 and I love it. It’s up there in price but also has temp. display which was handy thru winter. Also has something called automatic temperature compensation. Haha I have no idea what that does but sounds good lol!! But anyway I’ve had it about 12 months now and have calibrated it 3 maybe 4 times. Very happy with it!

Heard good things about these and the Hanna meters as well. Like most of them are made in China still but when you buy a quality brand your generally paying for quality control above all else.

I’m thinking I gotta start putting up pics of plants with mites and deficiency problems to get more likes. The day to day photo of my grow has become the norm it seems

You should do it week by week so we can actually see the change in them lol. When we see them everyday it’s like how your puppy or child grows in front of your eyes but u never notice the change

I have found that even scientific stuff needs to be cross checked. Regarding cannabis and wavelengths and what would be the absolute optimum if you just wanted to build that for you own amusement and had the resources, is not well understood. So there is always a danger of forgetting this. One of the most egregious examples of this is tides. I spent years wanting to understand how tides work and just when I finally understood it backed up by genuine science it turns out that it was all wrong.

Sometimes people quote 'actual science' to back their claims up, and generally this is the right thing to do, but one has to recognise what is science and what is conjecture. Even scientists get a bit precious sometimes.

Yeah I post in my journal every couple of days to document their growth lol but most of them have been posted on this thread. It’s in the grow journal section if you wanna have a laugh lol

However since you'll have used buffer solution you may as well store it in used buffer solution. Why not.

yeah i basically just rinse them off with tap water and then store with the cap on so they cant dry out. its not really submerged in tap. havnt had an issue this way. they do drift in calibration, i find im calibrating every 3 or 4 weeks but im kind of anal on PH. in case having 3 PH meters on hand at all times wasnt a giveaway of that

It can't hurt and can only help. I'm going to consider my meter an ongoing product test. See how long it goes before it begins to go wonky.

yep same crappy ones i use. just dont get any water around the top and it will last for ages. thats the biggest difference witht the expensive ones. all the extra effort that goes into making them waterproof etc.

same thing tells us theoretically a person can go into space and because they have mass (and anything with mass has a gravitational pull) they should be able to make small objects orbit them but in actual fact the minor gravitational forces from sun, moon and planets make this impossible

They shouldn't start fully flowering till mid January and finish in the second half of March
