Never use compost, it's not pH buffered and increases weak growth and nutrient lockout...And the compost will greatly increase your chances of male plants... Compost is hard to flush out causing more cancer and bad taste and smell..
Organic/synthetic blend is best.. organic work best with benefitial bacteria and carbs (molasses). They form natural bacteria creating unique smells, tastes and colors... The down side of organics is they can cause root problem if your plants become unhealthy.. Also I found they are harder to flush out.. The organic base you have with the black strap molasses will work great.. Reasearch bio bizz and see if it's a two part, and you have the BOTH parts.. Add a cheap bloom booster like crystal burst ($12) and you are set my friend... Let me know if you have any other questions? Hope this helps!!
If there from seed.. Follow these instructions to have a better female outcome..
1. Do Not feed.
2. Use 6500k light.. Do not expose it to natural outdoor summer or fall sunlight.
3. Keep it on 24 light cycle
4. Do not spray pesticides
5. Don't take a clone to early.. allow a transplant before you take clone..
so all the farmers that use compost are stupid? fertilizer isn't supposed to be ph buffered, thats why people use ph up and down. OVER USING any nute causes poor growth and lockouts, which suggests you don't know how to use them very well.
organic/synthetic blend is fine...but so is all organic, or all synthetic....as long as you use the products properly.
organics ONLY work with beneficial organisms in the soil, they are what breaks down the nutrients in your soil into "bite size bits" that your plant can absorb. if you mix synthetic nutes in, you have to be light with them, or they'll cook your benes. molasses is a decent choice, turbanado sugar is ok, anything the benes can eat without a lot of extra unneeded crap is ok.
we won't even go into what a complete waste of time, effort, and intelligence the "flushing" myth is.
1 feed regularly, lightly, and get a little run off at least every third time
2 use a light between 2700k and 7000k to veg under....makes very little difference....
3 roots grow better when the plant has at least a few hours of dark every day, i've found that i get good vigorous growth using 20/4, with healthier plants than a 24/0 schedule.
4 only use insecticides during veg, never spray a plant in flower. never put an infested plant into flower.
5 the first part is good...whether or not you've repotted the plant doesn't mean a damn thing. it IS important that the plant is mature when you take clones. a lot of people like to wait till it's been in the flower tent for a week or so, because they produce a lot of new shoots during that time. if you wait a little longer, till you start to see a few pistils, that's called monster cropping, and while it's harder to get them to take, the ones that do grow crazy bushy clones.
