I was looking for ideas. You started a thread on what others should do . do you not think it is right to know what you do ? I tell everyone I know that I give clothes away to the homeless. I myself buy the under garments. Guess what. I have people giving me stuff to give to them as well. The reason I tell is to get more involved. What say you Sky ?

what you do is planned and should be commended..mine random.

i prefer to keep my random gifts/acts of kindness, to myself.

i know what i do and if there is some big daddy in the sky, he knows too.

And how will the homeless be assisted ? Vocational schools ? Drug and alcohol abuse centers ? Housing ? or just throw money at a problem with no real solution

that's up to the state..all of the above

one issue that WILL be hard to solve is, some of them want to stay- it's their community also due to mental illness.

pod-like housing share kitchen/bath similar to halfway house.

what they did here was take them from the bus terminal and the land that's dead center FTL is historical and they allow them on historical land. i've seen groups some by with soap, toothbrush/paste, baby wipes, deodorant, shave stuff out the back of their trunk..other bring food from their restaurants a few ties a week.

why don't you consider bulk buying toiletries and when you hand new clothes and underwear, the toiletries will be in the bag you place them in?

down here in certain areas they have toiletries locked or behind customer service, that's how bad it is here.

boy isn't that the truth..i hate to tell you how many cali plates i've seen here panhandling..they are in the wrong place.

the other day a homeless muslim dude is standing outside walmart running up to shoppers commanding people to give him a dollar..wild hair, full beard scared the shit out of me..i totlally had him run off site. heard he made $6 until he got the boot.
