First time Grower NEED ADVISE PLEASE

Its been one month since it was born, as of today and well it's 7 inchs tall I was wondering if i should continue veg for awhile or does it look good enough to start flowering? At first I only had it under one small 18 in Flu due to my budget 2 weeks later i noticed she really wasnt growing well so after i snatched a couple things from my local store, I've now put her under 2 Flu's and 6 CFLs which puts it around 7000 Lumens for her/it. In the last two weeks it's poped up 6 more inchs. I'd like to have it all flowered and harvested before christmas but let me know what you think, this is my first grow so I'm a bit unaware of how big it should be and what to expect any advise or tips would be great...Thanks...

it's really up to you, what kind of lighting do you intend to use for flowering. if you are using CFL's soft white are optimal.

if you could swing a 150watt hps it'd be perfect, you can get one for about 20 bucks if you just use a security light, there's a link to one on here for 20 bucks.

your plant seems kind of spindly to me (but perfectly healthy otherwise) which suggests your lights aren't close enough, get those lights within 1-2" and make sure there is good ventilation so you dont overheat your plants.

and to answer your question get it to at least 12" before you veg. remember though your yield even from a big plant is going to be poor if you dont have good lighting.

I'm thinking of sticking with the CFLS for flowering just cause I have a tight budget... what do you mean spindly?

Is that 7 inches from the cotyldons or from the dirt? If you can try to cover the dirt up to the cotyldons, it's useless stem bascially.. should help stablilize her too.

Well if you flowered her now i'de say she would end up being about 2 feet tall. I'm partial to SOG so I would say if you want to flower her now go for it, when I flower they are no more then 4 inches tall generally.. i've even flowered them after 3 days before and got a little over a quarter off it. I'm not sure what kind of penetration CFL's give you though, i'm used to MH/HPS lights.

If you were to flower now and have it done in 8 weeks, it would be dried by christmas, with almost a week to spare.. so that might make your decision there.

Thats from dirt, SOG I dont know to much about that I'd just like to get a harvest of any size really just so i know I'm getting the idea after christmas i'll have more time to grow anyways

Well I tend to average 3/4-1oz per 16-20" plant of mine.. if that's enough for you go for it. You may not get that much as this is your first grow but you gotta start some where. Make sure you get a fan on her to help toughen her up and start giving her some nutes if you haven't already.

id say get an mh for another couple weeks and an hps for flower and youd have a nice plant by christmas but otherwise it may not do as well as you are hoping for. By spindly he meant it looks very thin for the age of the plant. If the the mh and hps are something that cannot be achieved right now then do the best with what you have and look into after christmas. Its a worthwhile investment and will give you plants anyone would be proud to grow. I also agree that it needs to make it to atleast 12 inches before flower if not more. I usually veg for about 6 weeks or until they are between one and half to two feet tall. Good luck with your grow and the plant seems healthy, do you have a fan on them??

in my opinion I would go ahead and flower the plant. Is if feminized?? I see you only have one plant so if it a male you would be s.o.l. If you flowered and it was a female you could go ahead a clone it and get your next one going. and if you only want a small amount at a time get a few 42 watt cfl or a small hps like 420 suggested and if is your first grow find a soil that has nutes already in it. That will be more forgiving than adding additional nutrients. Good luck!!!

Yea it's bagseed indeed ok well I made my decision I'm sure you guys will be hearin from me again along the way thanks all for the advise if you have anything else you'd like to add to that remember it's my first time and anything will help

fukin rite!! i agree!! im in the middle of my grow just went in to flowering! got my seeds from a bag of weed from the dam some thai. the only from its that they should be ready to harvest around christmas!! so middle of january b4 i can smoke it!! just after my birthday lol
