Would that make sense? Half of the light would just hit the walls...?!Sorry for the dumb questions, been looking over your diagram for the layout or_gro
Are the lights 1inch in from the side of the tent on the 6X 96qb diagram?
Yep, 1” from door and opposite wall...Sorry for the dumb questions, been looking over your diagram for the layout or_gro

Yep 1”, if someone can get a better spread at that height and wattage, post it....Would that make sense? Half of the light would just hit the walls...?!
Its for sure ~1ft from the walls and a ~2ft gap between each board. Over lapping starts at ~12" and good uniformity you'll get from ~18" and above. And between each row of two boards there is a gap of ~1ft. Goal is always to get even distribution(80% uniformity) with the lowest possible distance.
Ordered last night early morning, got a email saying they have already been shipped. That's the kind of service I enjoy. Get ready @Or_Gro, I'm gonna be bugging you! Ha! I'm kidding my man. You've done enough.Just purchased 2x96's and 2x 24Oh-54a's
i think aroundGoing off hlg site if i'm using 480h c2100 for 4 96s.... each 96s be running at what watts?
If i can help, i’m happy to do so...Ordered last night early morning, got a email saying they have already been shipped. That's the kind of service I enjoy. Get ready @Or_Gro, I'm gonna be bugging you! Ha! I'm kidding my man. You've done enough.
edit* Lol a lil too jipper. It was just a shipping label created...
Lol....the infamous move. Lil pop-up on the site says orders will be shipped on the 19th (this was a few days ago as I was reading this thread and perusing hlg's site).I

Lemme know when they ship, a bunch of my buds are waiting for boards of various kinds, ordered 1-2 wks ago....
Must be Da Move...
If that’s for 4x4 or larger, i’d use 2 of those for the 4 96’s, take a look at the mapping...i think around
54v * 2.1A = 113w
maybe a little bit more
Your handle reminds me of the guy in best of show: pine nut, pistachio nut, macadamia nut, chocolate macadamia nut, cob nut....Lol....the infamous move. Lil pop-up on the site says orders will be shipped on the 19th (this was a few days ago as I was reading this thread and perusing hlg's site).
Yea, i'll letcha know.
I would use the HLG-480H-54A or B version it offers much more flexibility.Going of the HLG site if i'm using 480h c2100 for 4 96s.... each 96s be running at what watts?
Ok, so now that RB mentions you have to use 4 lights with the other driver, based on a 4 bd config in at least a 4x4 i would get 2 of these 480-54s to get good coverage at 1000 ppfd, cuz you will need 200-240w per light w 4 lights.I would use the HLG-480H-54A or B version it offers much more flexibility.
With parallel wiring you can add more boards easily to make your light more efficient. With series wiring you are forced to use 4 boards and to increase efficiency you would need at least another 4 boards for a 2nd parallel string.
Parallel is also more fail safe. If one board fails the remainig 3 would still work; with a series circuit the whole light would go off.
And last but not least, you get more watts from a CV / CC driver.
Will be keeping an eye on colortemp as i get to point of increasing wattage, seems to be difference in color temp as power is added...not dramatic swing, more like closer to 3500K at low wattage, closer to 3000K at higher wattage....if so, another great feature for veg/flower settings....Seedlings transplanted to hydroton, placed in dwc today (workin on 2nd true leaf; single/multiple root tips visible).

Only change affecting light intensity is higher position of dwc vs humidity dome.
Single hlg 96, on hjg-240h-54A driver, running (dc side):

Thanks! My advice to anyone on the fence about lights, if you don’t have to buy lights, wait.
Samsung seems to be making an investment in hort diodes, they make these moves because they see a big enuff market for themselves, hlg is just a small part of the pie. When blurple and hps based companies look at their future, it’s got to be getting whiter. I think we’re on the verge of an explosion of white led based offerings.
LG & Phillips to follow?Thanks!
You made me lookup info and I found some news on samsungs new horticulture LEDs. Limited info but looks like Samsung will be releasing them soon. Summary from article below (important stuff only)...

Samsung unveils horticulture LED products for greenhouse, vertical farming
Industry 08:52 November 21, 2018
SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co. on Wednesday showcased a new lineup of horticulture light-emitting diode (LED) solutions optimized for greenhouses and vertical farming, which can help farmers improve produce quality.
The South Korean tech giant said the new products, including white full-spectrum packages and modules, as well as color LEDs, provide farmers with a broader spectrum of light that leads to healthier plant growth, along with reduced lighting system costs.
"Samsung's full-spectrum-based horticulture LEDs present a new way of using LED lighting to improve plant cultivation at reduced system costs," Samsung Electronics said. "We plan to further expand our horticulture offerings by integrating the latest in smart LED lighting technology, including Samsung's leading sensor and connectivity solutions."
Compared with narrow spectrum lighting, Samsung said the full-spectrum-based LEDs can help plants grow healthier by "stimulating photosynthesis, enhancing plant immunity and increasing nutritional value."
Samsung said the new solutions also help farmers spot plant diseases through bright white lighting.
Along with the full-spectrum white LEDs, Samsung also introduced blue, deep-red and far-red LEDs to meet different demands from horticulture lighting manufacturers.
"Built on Samsung's market-proven LED technologies, the new full spectrum and color LED lineups feature a high degree of reliability, making them well-suited to withstand high temperatures and humidity levels, as well as agricultural chemicals used in greenhouses and vertical farming," the company added.
