Newb in coco help please

I have two dutch passion critical orange punch in mills coco feeding with floranova bloom with tap water that are around 5-6 weeks old

The problem: one plant is dark green the other is quite pale but both have droopy leaves and new growth is curling down, thin with yellow tips

They have both been fed exactly the same very low nutes under 1/4 strength and have constantly had this problem

I bumped nutes to 1/4 strength to see if anything changed but still getting yellow tips..

Am i overfeeding really at such low strength??

What is your ph at? Do you have any pics?

Between 5.8 and 6.2 watering twice a day dark plant is in 7 ltr and pale plant maybe 3ltr an she has pretty much filled the pot.. i dont have any pics at the moment but will be able to take some later

Well ph is good I’m not sure about the watering with coco. There is a lot of information out there some people say fully saturate the medium, some say never let it dry out, then I’ve heard in bigger containers never saturate fully. Maybe we can get an experienced member to drop some knowledge.

Look around this forum. I've never seen any grow in coco go well. Not a single fucking one. It's always a complete disaster. Why people keep buying that shit is beyond me.

part of that is mag deficiency. looks like something else is going on, too, mag deficiency shouldn't cause burnt leaf tips.
i'd add a small amount of cal mag to each watering, but water a little less each time. you should keep coco damp, but not soaking wet. twice a day is good, but if you're giving them a liter each, try 750 ml each, instead. maybe once a week, water them so you get good run off and wash out the old, depleted salts.

My floranova has 5.5% cal and 3.1% mag so shall i just up my feeding.. could the tips being yellow be because im feeding so low??? I have been using 1.5ml to 3ltr of water with 12 drops ph down and max strength is 2.5ml per litre

in my experience, tip burn is a sign of over feeding, not underfeeding. usually too much P in particular, but there are other causes.
the curling leaves are a sign of over watering. since you're in coco, and should water often, i have to think your roots aren't quite as healthy as they should be. to help them catch up, i'd water a little less volume.....and let them dry out a little more before you water again. not saying let them dry out, coco doesn't retain oxygen unless you water it, but you can keep it too wet, which makes it harder for your roots to absorb nutrients or oxygen.
i don't know floranova, but it looks like your plants aren't getting enough mag or N, and too much P...

Feed your plants with normal feed. Let the runoff go for a bit and then catch some runoff coming out of each plant individually in a shot glass and test the ec. If its way fucking high about 300+ ppms of what you normally feed then there might be a salt buildup causing lock out OR/and that salt build if excess can also show signs of burning tips (yellow or brown).
How often do you water your plants a day?
Is it pure coco?

I feed once in the morning and again at night
I was feeding 1.5ml per 3ltr tap water with 12 drops ph down
I dont have ec or ppm metre
I have been watering till 10% runnoff everytime as to not get salt buildup
I backed down to 1ml per 3ltr with 15 drops ph down last night and watered till 20% runnoff hoping this helps

I thought this could be used at 8ml gal lucas and dont understand how at such low strength im getting nute burn or salt build up

Would i be better of using rain water instead of tap ?

I do have to others that i put in bigger pots that iv neglected.. they are dying from the bottom up as i mixed coco with a compost that was 60% peat i also added dolo lime and they have always been fucked.. i tried feed soil ph and tried hydro ph and they just constantly had problems so have just left them now to do there thing if they die they die lol

I believe you arent feeding enough. You cannot let the coco dry out EVER period. It always has to stay moist. Letting it dry out increases the concentrations of salts in the coco.

What are your temps? Also post some pics of the plants as a whole, hard to judge the size by your close pics. Most likely like thegermling said you arent feeding them enough, you are probably giving them the equivalent of what you should be feeding seedlings.

The plants are like 30-40 cm tall as i lst'd them abit
Temps stay between 23 and 27.5c° humidity between 40-60
Lights on 24-7
180 watt diy 3000k cob and 125w 6400k cfl

This is the lighter coloured plant in the smallest pot wich was pretty much rootbound.. there was loads of space left at the top of tht pot so i added more coco yesterday to give the roots some more room for growing.. yesterday i flushed them with 1ml per 3 ltr and they look much better today.. leaves dont serm to be drooping as much
I have just watered her with 3ml per 3ltr to see what happens as people and i think im not feeding enuf



This one is in a bigger pot and filled with rots again although not as bad.. i filled the top of the pot with more coco again this one is furthest along but is darker then the other one


I have kept this at 1ml per 3ltr for now until i see how the other one takes it

You should be feeding 5ml of FloraNova Bloom per gallon of water every day with 20% run off.
