QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

Most probably... I do not think that they leave the grow market to Samsung. Philips/Luminous has already LED for horticulture lightning, Osram anyway but even Cree and the others offer something similar.
Below are a few pdf's.. I also like Luminous' "meat series" especially for marbled meat the spectrum looks interesting but they are not so good in terms of efficiency.

If that’s for 4x4 or larger, i’d use 2 of those for the 4 96’s, take a look at the mapping...
Thnx fir all the real world Info & time uve put in.
Been paying attention the past few days cuz I'm going to be running 4 of these in a 4x4 next week & was trying to determine which plants will go under them. If only 4 96's I should try to maintain at least 2' it seams. Was going to do side by sides but if I need 2' clearance it looks like all the smaller plants will go under these.
I'll need to really plan a 2 or 3 strain crop with all even plants. Rn I'm just winging it with what I have. Thnx!

If you’re concerned about diff plant heights, i’d use pedestals to keep all tops at same ht. @Randomblame suggested using styrofoam blocks for pedestals, wouldbe cheap and easy to cut to exact heights.

From my grows, keeping tops even is best use of high intensity lights. On 96s, which rely on crosslighting to provide even coverage, keeping lights at same height is really important.

My problem is the opposite. Plants are to tall. But yeah, i use different size milk & soda crates if I need a lift.
Stop by my thread when u get a chance. I'll have those hanging next wk & getting The Bar8 today. They'll also be the prototype Elite that GML ran, the prototype SolarBar-8 & a Hortrilux Thouie new bulb in a big hood. Maybe some strips & Pro-4's to fill in the gaps.
But rn its looking like a small plant under each 96 would be the best bet.
You're mapping was very helpful.

What's your take on the Nichia OptiSolis?

What's your take on the Nichia OptiSolis?
Really good diodes if not the best with a few really special particularities. Nichia is a specialist for high CRI and especially the Rfx00,Rfx0f ( CRI98 ) version of the Optisolis looks promising.
The 3000 and 2700°k in CRI95 and 98 have the red peak aound 660nm and 2700°k is probably more efficient like 3000°k. The warmwhite/CRI98's are also more efficient like the coolwhite/CRI98 because 5000°k and above are based on purple base LED's. With this diodes there is also no typ. spectrum hole around 485nm like with other white diodes.

All this makes them a lot different compared to other diodes and efficiency wise the top bins are also pretty good. +3μMol/J at 65mA for a 3000°k/CRi98 means ~60% efficiency. For such a high CRI thats awesome.
I can not say more but not too long and we will see the first high CRI Nichia grow boards; thats for sure.
Its only a matter of time...

Have you see their presentation ..?

How did you get those hangers thru the holes? Did you mske them yourself and crimp them aftee you laced them thru? I know the ones I have in a box somewhere won't go thru there with the metal crimp piece. I'll have to check when I'm at the spot.

Fold it one time exactly in the middle then put the folded part thru the hole, bro! Voilá...
They are twice as long normally with a loop on each end.
Look for growlight hanging kits on e3ay/amazon. They are pretty cheap..

Fold fishing leaders push wire loop thru hole, pull end(s) thru loop, tighten.

I don’t like the leader method tho, especially with multiple bds, too difficult to get them to hang parallel. Changed to sitting them in aluminum angle stock, which holds them in position and allows for easy movement (see explanation above).

Are there two different tim's ?

I went with the oriiginal way you did it. I'll build a frame for them once I decide what exact configuration I'm going to use them in. For now, they are going into the little tent to flower out a bubba kush that has gotten too big in veg, I have no more space for another plant in my flower tent.

I intend to have my veg become a second flower tent, it houses 8 qb120's on 2x hlg-240b at the moment. A Qb board + Qb96 hybrid may be in the future.

Please post a pic, and some progress reports.

I’ve posted several sets of pics for two currently flowering grows. Both guys are experienced growers, they think the 96s cause the plants to mature faster, speeding up flowering by a week or so.

Day 54 of 8-10 wk strain, Flush begins tonight.

Anyone else flowering under them, have a view?
