so if my box is 2x2x6 and I have 4 ft of vert space after set up, when should I place my scrog net withing the 4 ft? my light is an hlg 135w v1 QB so I can get my tops within 8-9 inches.

I just didn't know if I should put it at about 3'4" or what, newish grower so be nice lol

I guess I just thought of the answer to my own questions lol does it just depend on the genetics and how much it stretches?

How tall are your pots?
After light, canopy distance from the light, pot height. Your looking at trying to flower like a 1 ft tall plant.

You better use a small pot and tie down your plants from early on and dont veg any longer then needed

If Sativa i would put the net at 16 to 24 inches (it can easily double in height after flower)

If Indica leaning you can go 24 inches (it will be usually less than double after flower)

I am making an adjustable net frame later for my 5 foot high tent. 62 inch tent with 10 inch pots and cob lights. Leaves me about 42 to 45 inches of grow space

I will set them at 24 inches because it is critical mass but i will start them at 16 to 20 and move it up as i need to.
The pic was a train wreck is scrogged in the same tent i am using this round.

Scrogs are all about low even canopy for light coverage and air flow, not height. I would set up the screen roughly 12-14 inches above your pot and train the plant to stay at that height. This will leave space under the screen for air flow, but it will also maximize your height to surface area and allow the least amount of veg time. If you flower when the screen is roughly 75-80% covered you still will want to tuck branches for the first 1-2 weeks of flowering while the plant is stretching. This will give you a nice full screen of budsites. Thats what its about growing bud sites not branches. You also want to use a sturdy screen to grow into. If your screen is sturdy it will keep the plant in place, if it is not then the plant will push the screen around and it will only act as support not really the training that a scrog is normally. I just searched around to find an amazing old thread on here about this, but sadly all the pictures were gone. There was a grower on here named Natmoon back in the day that did amazing scrog grows.

moving them up meaning stacking nets or?

Ah ha after looking at the dowels i will follow KISS

I am going to just make it a single level net frame and put screws with a raised head on the top of the frame to hook the net on.

I am going to use it this grow on my critical mass to see if it is right.

You don't want to move the nets on a scrog. Scrogging is a training process. The idea is to grow the plants into a FIXED screen to train them all to grow at the same height . I couldn't find the original thread, but there was a fella on here years ago that was running a 400w in a cool'ed reflector. He had this built into a cabinet like you'd see in your garage. The inside was lined completely with mylar, and he used a parabolic screen to maximize/control the canopy. With 2 plants in a DYI DWC set ups he was regularly pulling 10 oz from a single 400. The screen holds the plants in place to keep them all the optimum distance from the light source to maximize growth and canopy space.
