Hello i have 8 plants 4 1/2 weeks from seed in a 4x4. I own a 400 W HPS and I’m waiting for a (actual wattage) 210 w cob on the way. Im trying to decide if I want to just go with led’s and get another 210 watt cob or if I want to do HPS and led together and either run HPS beside 1 210 watt cob or maybe HPS In the middle of 2 cobs, this is in a 4x4. I will have 4 mother plants going as well with a 240 W LED So I am thinking about the amount of energy all be using to. I will have 2 in-line fans running a 6 inch and a 4 inch and two other fans and possibly some other things I can’t think of or maybe just don’t have yet.
Help is Appreciated

Hps are good for winter LED is good for summer. If you want to grow all seasons.
The heat isnt really an issue it stays a good temperature I’ve just read a lot about LEDs being really good supplemental like to HPS and how you can get a lot better yield from picking a fuller spectrum and mixing lights So I’m trying to decide if it’s worth me keeping my HPS running or just spending the money on some extra LEDs and doing that

I'd suggest that you maybe shouldn't buy LED, if your considering taking a loss is a high possibility. LED companies are kind of smarter than bank robbers. But still run off with your money. They will advertise pretty much everything falsely. Like life expectancy most claim 100,000 hours. An you get 1 to 3 year warranty. That doesn't even make sense, if the life expectancy is 100,000 hours =10 years. An very rarely they give 3 years warranty. Obviously there testing them first. An place the warranty outside that time frame. It breaks down they make sure to fuck your pocket book. When I scroll down through led reviews. Instantly see how deceptive they are with warranty conditions. Like for example one reviewer stated. They don't replace cooling fans inside the LED grow panels. An they kept his money like scammers. I asked the same LED company in a public question on amazon. It will let anyone ask public questions above the reviews section. An they lie like dogs saying," yeah we'll fix pc fans within warranty." After having just robbed a reviewer. Another is some will put -3 years warranty wtf does that even mean "- 3". An reviewers are saying mine didn't even last 1 year. The LEDS burned out.

This Happened to me. From light house hydro LED company. There blackstar 240w on my light. The LEDs went out. They all ruin the whole LED industry. Just be prepared you could take a big loss pretty quick.

Lol I redited it

Try seperating your thoughts into point form with some spaces inbetween.

And if you really want to get fancy

  1. They have these
  • And these
And if you really want something to stand out.

Im just bored man

I just got off track a few times in that post trying to figure out what you meant.

Sometimes its easier if you look at the post and ask youself .

Would i read a full page comment with no spaces, little words, on a phone, full of spelling errors and wrong words?

Its usually where the thread ends .

Yeah ive been running strips 3500k. And recently added a hps to the mix and its a noticible difference

Maybe your cobs will penetrate a little more than my strips .

But honestly for a 4x4 a 600w hps is plenty light, you probably wont need those cobs .

If you do i would under power them a bit and put one in each corner to light up your dark spots.

Honeslty just start one grow with a 600w hps and just spot your problems as they arise

Humidity
Fresh air
Temps
Co2
Nutrients
Plant hieght.

Everyone here tries to start @ full force.
Chill out .

Youll be way better off easing into it than burning the shit out of your plants

I believe he said it was a 400 rather than a 600. A 400 in a 4x4 is a bit under powered imo, but i generally agree that newer growers shouldn't be trying to light up the universe before they learn the basics.

At this point now Im going to give the led’s a try I just want to know if I should do 2 of the 200 watt led’s with the HPS OR just 1 with the HPS

I already bought on cob 200 watt led so I’m going to use it with my 400 watt HPS.
At this point I’m wondering if I should use to led cobs or just 1

Sorry everyone for my retardation I have a 9th grade education but I promise I am not that stupid. I only apear to be through text.
If anyone can give me more info on led plus HPS I will appreciate YOU
Ideally you want 32 - 50 watts per sq ft.

If you have 4x4 =16sq ft

16x32=512w
16x50=800w

800 is pretty overkill tho.

Use whatever conbination youd like to gwt in that range .

As for mixing if you want to ty it out yah just grab one and a hps to start and see how it goes
