Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

It depends on when you're renewing. The way I read the regulations (Section 946.290), your IDPH "approval" is good for three years. If you get approved but opt for a 1-year or 2-year card, you can go through an "expedited" renewal (until you hit three years) that bypasses the need for a physician's certificate or proof of residency. Once you hit three (3) years, whether because you opted for the 3-year card or after some renewals, then you have to go through the full application process again including producing a new certificate from your doctor.

Can anyone confirm?
That's how I understand it to work. I hope by the time my 3 years is up they figure an incurable disease does not need to be re-certified every 3 years. Makes as much sense as getting re-fingerprinted.

that's Good ! I did mine for 3 years , I imagine I will have to start from scratch . Glad my Dr. is Young !
I had the same thought about mine. Although they can move. I lost 2 to Arizona.

Hey,

So did any of you happen to use MCO when they still mailed applications for you? If so do you have your cards yet? My timeline is as follows..

Aug 23 *edit - Appointment at MCO that consisted of dr visit, fingerprints, all paperwork and paid cash. Was told within 90 days I'd have the card in hand.

Oct 16 - emailed IDPH and received an automatic response that told nothing.

Nov 20 - called and got through to the state. I was told that my application was received and it would be processed in the order received.

Dec 4 - Day 104 and Still no card

So what gives? I haven't gotten any mail and people that applied after me are getting cards. Makes me wonder if MCO didn't hold applications or loose mine in the mix. This happen to anyone else that used them?

The clinics often do hold applications. I think the longest I've heard was about a month!

Hi. I'm new to the forum. I did full application online Sept 26 and they processed my credit card payment same day...but no contact from IDPH at all. Did anybody successfully apply online? What phone# or email address do you use to check on the status of your application?

The latest cards I've seen would probably put you around 19th to 21st.

My appointment with MCO was Aug 30. My app was received September 26.
I should have asked when my app was received when I got through to the state. I've called again the last week but never get through. Regardless that's a load of shit.. I talked to MCO in pekin and the lady told me that the dr is in Thursdays (when I went) and they send the apps out that Friday or the next Monday. Not sure I totally believe her tho. Almost makes me wonder if they use usps and send a crap load of paper apps at once and if it takes the state a moment to enter the information.

On the flip side I have a friend who used MCO and had the card in hand 84 days later. He has a friend that applied around the same time as me (a little after actually) and that person is still waiting as well.

Waiting is getting old and I'm starting to get a little upset. Wouldn't be so bad if the state had more workers and would answer the damn phone more often.
