air conditioners/chiller

Does anyone do closed environment agriculture? Using air conditioners or chillers instead of in and out vents.
I'm looking for a fairly affordable way to keep my room cool. Around $300 or so. What is more affordable in the long run, chiller or conditioner? Any good or bad experiences with them please share.
Thanks.

10x12x7 with 10000 btu and 2k of lights will still pull the room down to 61. add a little co2 and put the thremostat at about 3-4 and your room should do fine. the co2 will cost more than the power!

hey there! i've been going through this issue with myself... every day that passes i think "shit, its gonna be getting hotter!" I just picked up a portable ac unit at home depot for 300.... its one of those mobile ones that can vent the air out through ducting. i originally picked up one of those window mounted ones, but while that cooled nicely, ummm there wasnt a place to vent the air :)
What info i got from the dude at home depot is that chillers use water to cool a room so they up the humidity a lot, and you might eventually get a wet musty scent left all over the place... i know a standard ac unit does take the humidiity out the ac so depending on what you want... i'd say the ac unit with the ventible ducting is the way to go!

Im using ac for my grow. I have a 1000wt mh and a 1000wt hps light so i did have heat issues but now that i use the ac i can keep my temp at a constant 78 degrees when lights are on and 73 when they are off. The only drawback is that you will need to vent the room or us co2 or the room air will get stale. I get my co2 using dry ice.
Peace
