630w cmh SOG hydro grow Part 2

This is the start of my 2nd grow with my CMH light. I have 7 Wedding Cakes, 6 Purple Punchs, 1 Peyote Critical, 1 Blue Gelato 41, and 1 Cheese that have been germinating for 2 days. They have all opened up and I'll be setting them in 1.5x1.5x1.5 rockwool cubes. I will do my best to log my grow journal every few days. Feel free to follow, comment, or give some advice on my thread, just please don't post any pictures and be respectful to all. Appreciation it, Happy Growing!

It's been 72 hours since I started germinating. This is my first time ever starting seedlings in rockwool. I've started them in dirt plenty of times and I've took thousands of clones in rockwool. So wish me luck. I soaked the cubes 3 times to get them around 6.0 pH. I got all 16 seedlings set ready to go. I've got them in trays in my propagator without the lid, and my tray is sitting on top of a heat mat. I have a 2' T12 40watt flouresant fixture with 2- 20w plant bulbs that I will be using for the 1st 2 weeks, then they'll veg under 315w Cmh, and then they'll flower under 630w cmh. My next update will be once they break through and start showing so.e signs of life.

Good luck. I just started using rockwool for a bubble bucket. I have tried it before and always had trouble getting them to catch. Too water logged or I think.
I will probably start the next seed this week.

i just picked up some 630w cmh fixtures to replace half of my gavitas or if they dont give me the same same yields ill just add them, anyway what lamp are you using? i havent made a decision because everyone making the 630w de lamps are no name companies. not like phillips with 315 se.....

I'm still waiting on 3 purple punch and the 1 Peyote critical to emerge. When they were set in the cubes they had the tap root showing. Hopefully they show in the next day or two before I investigate further. The Wedding cake are making a run for it, they are getting tall

My hood holds 2- 315w bulbs. I'm not a big fan of the DE's

Most people seem to like the 3k-r De bulbs to flower with. Growers choice and Sunplix comes to mind as far as 630 De bulb brands.

Today is day 7 since putting the seedlings in cubes and 10 days since start of germination. I started giving them a mild nutrient solution that consists of GH Floranova Grow, GH Diamond Nector, and GH Florablend. The tall Wedding Cakes are starting to show roots out the bottom. I still have 3 out of 16 that haven't broke the surface, 2 are Purple Punch's and 1 is Peyote critical. I pulled the plug over the holes and they are developing, but slowly. I really hope the Peyote Critical pulls through, I only have 2 more seeds left and this one was going to be my tester. I still have 4 Purple Punch's that have sprouted, and hundreds of seeds to spare. In the next day or two I'll be transferring the one's showing roots into either 6x6 rockwool cubes or 4x4 cubes on top of 9.5x8x4 uni-slabs then start vegging under the 315w cmh. I was able to get a killer deal on the uni slabs at my local hydro store so I figured I'll try them out. Probably run them on a separate pump since they hold more water than the 6x6 and need to be watered less often.

Week 2 of veg
It's been 12 days since my last update, had family from out of town staying for Christmas and it's been crazy. On the 20th I started 18/6 under 315w cmh, by the 22nd I had 7 of the seedlings in 6x6 cubes and 8 seedlings in 4x4 cubes. I also gave the seedlings a feeding of GH Floranova grow, GH Rapid start, GH Floralicious plus, GH Armor Si, GH Calimagic, GH Florablend, GH Diamond nector, with RO water. I was planning on changing out the reservoir today, but I'm out of a lot of nutrients and they won't be her till tomorrow. As soon as I see roots out the bottom of the 4x4 cubes I will then transfer them to the uni-slabs. The Peyote critical seedling never fully emerged which is a bummer . I have 2 more seeds but they'll have to wait till my next run. The rest are looking good, 7 wedding cake (4 in 6x6s and 3 in 4x4s), 6 purple Punch (3 in 6x6s and 3 in 4x4s), 1 cheese, 1 blue gelato 41(both in 4x4s).

Week 2 of veg
Gave the girls a flush yesterday, started noticing some nute burn on a few. After checking I may have fucked up on some of the doses, but they'll be fine. I do have one Purple Punch growing funny, I may pull her and I might get 2 clones of gelato to replace it and the Peyote critical that didn't make it so I can keep my 16 count. I just mixed up a batch of fresh nutrient solution for the week. Roots are starting to show on the bottom of the 4x4s, so I'll be adding the uni-slabs to them very soon.

Happy New Year - I'm keeping an eye on your Wedding Cake since I have some seeds on the way. Also, the stakes that hold your tubing, where did you get those? And is even watering ever a concern with just the one tube?

Day 12 since putting the seedlings under the CMH light. They're looking nice and healthy. The one Purple Punch is starting to look better, I also ended up getting the 2 Gelato clones that are the same size as my seedlings. I'm going to veg for another week depending how tall they get, I'm shooting for 12"-14" before I flip 12/12. RT has been 71°-73°F, RH 70%.
