its more for SMD soldering (probably not the kind of soldering youre used to)


The first thing that comes to my mind is making your own quantum board with a bunch of different spectrum diodes

would never use a hot air gun on plastic package leds, use a hot plate or the hand solder method you mention

I never implied that, was there a video in the playlist?

Or do you mean that solder station? I thought the station was very good deal for what it offers.
As far as hot air gun, that's used for taking off diodes, not putting them on. Although I have seen videos of guys using a (laundry) iron to solder surface mounted diodes... kinda ghetto, but if it works for them.
