here's a totally hypothetical question:

if someone was growing in a house with a pretty good sealed room and air srcubber that does a pretty good job... not excellent. growing let's say skunk #1, and this house was on a busy street where cars zip by traveling 25-35 mph but the house is fairly close to the road. K-9 police cars driving past the house, could the dog pick up on the smell from the house from the police car driving by?

i had read a long time ago that police were using drug dogs to sniff the air of a suspected car that might be carrying drugs by crusing behind it to see if the dog picks up on the smell and from what i read it worked... but it could have been propaganda just to make us more parinoid

LANSING -- The Michigan Court of Appeals says it's OK for police to use dogs to sniff the exterior of a house to detect drugs without a search warrant.

The 2-1 ruling released Wednesday is a setback for Jeffrey Jones of Detroit.

A Wayne County judge had suppressed evidence and dismissed marijuana possession charges against Jones because he argued the sniffing was an illegal search. Prosecutors appealed.

Two judges on the appeals court say police, acting on a tip, can go to someone's home with drug-detection dogs, sniff the front door and use that information to get a warrant to search inside the house.

A dissenting judge says the ruling erodes the protections of privacy and the sanctity of the home guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment.

as for outside your home, I don't know guess depends on how well insulated and sealed your home is also

that is a good point when i worked for a dog kennel a police K-9 would board for a week or so and in order for it use the bathroom we would have to use whistle commands for it to take a dump... and to eat.. and it would sit in its cage all day without moving until we left for the day and we whistled the command for it to sleep.

while i worked there i sold weed and often times i had a pocket full of bud, and we even showed the K-9 a bag of weed i even threw in a small bud of course behind the protective barrier and it did nothing but stare at us

A couple years ago i was pulled over and they found papers so they searched my car and i had a qp of some skunky shit in a smelly proof bag and the dog never picked up the smell, but when the dog was searchin i was pretty much shittin my pants!

I once hid a 1/4 pound of skunk bud up my ass. in this air port as soon as I walked by this yellow Lab he jumped on me and started humping my ass. The officer apolgized for the dog. I walked away. The pot was shrinked wraped and put up in my ass crack. Cut it open and had fresh bud.
