Small fluffy buds

You realize there are nutrient deficiencies that cause those exact symptoms? I believe zinc. That would also explain your plants dieing...... I've never seen lights flat out kill a plant without landing in them.

I hope it has helped. I remember being a newer grower and trying to figure things out still. There is lots I info and lots of Mis-info.

I tried all LED last time and got fluffy buds too. Granted it wasn't a $1,100 dollar LED, but I won't do it again. That's why I'm switching to CMH as soon as I figure out exactly what I need.

You don't even need a $500 led to grow dense buds. You need 2 things, genetics that are predisposed to create dense flowers (some strains, particularly sativa dominant ones will be sparse and fluffy no matter what you do), and a dialed in environment. This means adequate light, water, nutrients etc etc...
I paid less than 200 bucks for a QB kit from HLG that yeilded about 5 ounces of rock hard nugs. And it's a 135 watt light. 20180514_005055 (1).jpg 20180513_162813 (1).jpg

The discussion seemed to change to lights and that may not even be a factor here. How long did they veg for in 5 gallon pots? They may have needed more time. They may need 4-6 more weeks of flowering that happens sometimes especially with a lot of training, you can slow them down if to much is done after they start to flower.keep an eye on the trichomes and let them go until they want to.They may still turn out good.Pictures look like they got flipped to early though.Like kinggrow1 said earlier 9 weeks on a 6-7 week advertised plant and if flipped early add another week.I have had the same strain next to each other same everything and there be a week difference in maturity. Some are just immature like me.Hope they turn out just fine for you.patience is the key factor. when veging we want to get to flower, when flowering we want to get to harvest its not fast food.A good home cooked meal is always better than fast food its worth the wait.
