Imported closed loop! Customs asking for a EORI number! HELP

I’ve imported a cheap closed loop from China(regretting not going for a more priced one alread in the country) my package got stopped by customs and now there are asking me for a Eori number and what my intded use is! I’ve filed for the Eori number and have to wait 3 days!

My questions:

Has it been stopped and they’ve opened it and are suspicious of what I may be doing?

What are these EORI numbers?

Will I receive my package?

What should I do?

Will there be any follow ups?

Was thinking to say it was gonna be hard to try and make perfume but will they just think that’s lies?

I am in a place where it is illegal also

Hey man - I worked in imports and exports for 10 years, over 20 million in yearly international sales in a large multinational....

what you need to do is get a Customs Agent. You give them power of attorney to do the importation for you and pay them a fee.

That's the way EVERY business does it - even large multinationals (like where I used to work).

The reason is if you try to do everything yourself it becomes a HUGE hassle. You need to get to it quick - whenever you import something, doesn't matter the country as it works very much the same everywhere, as soon as it ships you need to have 1) Billing Invoice 2) Commercial Invoice with HTS Codes (make the seller send you a draft copy and your customs agents needs to approve the HS code as not every country uses the same code for similar produts), 3) Packing Slip/package Manifest.

If you have those 3 things a Customs Agent can get this through customs in 1-3 days.

If you try to do it yourself it becomes a pain in the ass........

Can you reccomend a company? And how much does this rufferly cost?

then get quotes from the first 3-4 results you get..... i don't know your exact particularts and I used to trade in automotive parts..... but the process is similar.

you waited until this arrived which is a bit of a no-no. b/c depending on the value you need import licenses which can take 5-10 work days to process depending on the port. you will also be charged warehouse fees...

It’s literally all going over my head I really don’t understand what I have to do, I bought it if a website now it’s doing this sort of stuff! I’ve never experienced anything close before! Can you dumb it down for me please

Not sure where you are located, and am speaking for the USA.

Hiring a customs agent is what I ended up doing when faced with your dilemma. Their fee was less than the fines I was facing, aside from the convoluted path.

If you know your US port of entry, Google: Customs Broker, Port of XXXX.

Pick one, call them, and explain your dilemma to them. Follow their directions.

Everyone already knows exactly what the equipment is used for, but the correct answer is "Essential Oil Extraction".

like above: customs broker, name of the port.

For example - if I wanted to bring in something from China to Long Beach in California I would google:

Customs broker customs agent Long Beach ocean importation

and go from there.

If you are in the UK importing something into London -

Customs Agent, Customs broker, importation, london...

something like this.

and this is all time sensitive - you need to do it ASAP.

If something is left at the dock for over 10 days it's considered old cargo. over 30 days without customs work started and it's abandoned and they will throw it in the trash....
