DIY with Quantum Boards

I run four, QB 304 boards in a 4x4 tent at 85 watts per board drawing 360 watts from the wall. So far, thats been about perfect! Your plant of two 320 kits would work well
I figured it would but I wanted to ask you all obviously. I forgot to add that I'm in a 2×4 so that's what really worries me. Well the space & hight. I'm at 6'11 right now & have a 1' extension I really rather not have to put it up. If you go to the beginning of my grow journal you will understand why. It's a huge pain..

I could use some direction on what would work for a no till situation indoor on like a 3x8 frame. I've been trying to wrap my head around this but I could use some help. I've seen cobs at like 3k or 3500k and that works for both veg and bloom but I know qbs are the newer tech. Any advice? Thanks
Either will work fine. As a matter of fact .... say you build a COB RIG .... you “ can” add Quantums and have the best of both. Or vice versa. Many growers still use cobs with citizen , Cree and Vero.

With a few running luminus chips too. 3000k has a slight red shift ( a slight more stretch ) , 3500k has slight more blue in spectrum. Either spectrum will be fine for both veg and flower. 4000k is a popular choice too ... even more blue for bush babies.

Try getting the best bin and cri ( 80 or 90 ) .

A great idea can be a rack build with both COB and QB 96 elite lights.
Time to get creative.

keep your lights at the right height and you should have no problems if you know your strain. Knowing how much your strains will stretch has more to do with height issues than lighting does, unless you do not have enough light, and that certainly won't be a problem!

some people need to realise that there is so called copy cat quantum boards for sale that are using legit chips made in china by Samsung and some using cree, in simple terms if you like, a all white or quantum board is not much different than older burple boards except using Samsung white leds and good drivers. I used hlg quantum boards and was and still am happy to recommend them to people but needs changed for me personally so I moved on to a layout that works best for me and my custom cab still using legit Samsung Chips and strips made by Samsung, but there most certainly is alternatives to be got and direct. There is a lot of copying going atm and it aint just them in china. Competition is what has got the led business where it is today. Things is looking good for everyone and choice is great. So chill out people ffs go fight apple and Samsung lol.

You can believe what you want but a good many of those "genuine" Cree or Samsung chips are NOT and they only way to prove it would be with a quantum meter and compare output. You see a board claiming they use Samsung or Cree chips, and is $30 cheaper than HLG, you can bet you money they are Epistar chips, NOT Samsung or Cree. Even the Nichia chips HLG used in the QB 324 are no match for Samsung chips performance wise, the board was interesting for the range of spectrum of the selected chips.

So are you really saving money buying boards with questionable chips? With lower efficiency, when that is one reason we use HLG's boards? What about warranty and customer service? NOBODY will match HLG for customer service, I can guarantee that! They have gone well beyond what would be required for me when I had an issue!

As I said in a previous post, its your money but consider more than price when you shop.

Can a hlg-600h-54a power (4) 324 boards?

Besides (4) 288v2 boards, can this driver power any other hlg quantum boards?
I got a good deal on this driver and impulsed bought it so now trying to figure out what to do with it.

Just sat here dreaming of a 560mm strip with 144 lm301b SL bin 3000k diodes and 8x LH351H reds....Under 48V would be great too...

Anything new planned for 2019? @Stephenj37826 @robincnn
Yes! This is also what I want to see from HLG - strips or boards with added red (630/660nm). And I'd like a higher ratio of red (and more evenly dispersed) than the PLC strips. (And It would be a nice bonus if we got some no-heatsink, QB120/132/192-style boards with that red enhancement.)
