Man my grows are always clean and this is the first time I've had issues with bugs. Not too happy about it. I also don't want to spray my plants but feel I'm without other options. If it was week 6 I'd let it be. Harvest. Dry in same room and put up strips. Then clean the room down thoroughly. But I'm day 28. Have at least 28 more days and by then I feel the whole room will be covered

You can also use pyrethrum/pyrethrine. But it's usually mixed with some sort of oil to prevent eggs from hatching. That oil usually leaves a bad taste.

I decided on letting my thrip friends live. Bomb the room after the grow and treat my veg so nothing carries over.

I won't feel comfortable smoking sprayed bud since there's no testing on combusting spinosad. Sure it's plant safe for eating, but smoking and eating are two different things.

I'd rather take the yield loss. Feel better smoking bugs than spinosad.

Get yourself some blue sticky traps.

Like the Yellow but they’re blue.

If you have an air compressor blow your plants off towards the blue traps every so often this should help reduce numbers.

You could also look at getting some Amblyseius cucumeris (thrips predators) I think they’re sold as THRIPEX.

This is a non chemical treatment biological control method.

They're thrips.


Beauveria bassiana will systemically wipe them out for good.

Swiirski mites will eat the thrips and eggs.

The citrus ferment foliar will kill them on the plant on contact


Protease enzymes will kill them in the soil.

Nematodes will kill them in the soil.

I mean this was about bugs. Maybe you have bugs, but more likely somethings off with your setup or your watering, etc. If it happens multiple grows you'll want to spell it all out so you can find out what's wrong. I'm no pro but it looks overwatered or underlit. But it could be a million things and you might get a bigger audience if you start a thread in the newbie section.

I sprayed Monday and haven't seen a thrip since. Been monitoring my sticky traps and the numbers caught haven't gone up.

Pretty easy bug problem solved.

I believe the spinosad will be broken down when I harvest in 5 weeks. That's what people at overgrow are telling me. And I trust their opinion. Not to discredit yours jondamon. Appreciate your input.

The smell wasn't even that bad either. Had an odor for sure, but wasn't repulsive once it was mixed down. I used 7.5ml per 500ml.
